Following on from Thursday’s winner in Kansas City, Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me stay in the MLS, and there’s one fixture in particular that I’ve highlighted that appeals to me for goals at both ends.

Cascadian rivals Portland Timbers and Vancouver Whitecaps face off at Providence Park in the early hours of Sunday morning in a fixture that appeals to me for goals at both ends.
Phil Neville’s hosts have scored 34 goals across their opening 19 matches in MLS this term, with 18 (53%) of them coming on home soil.
The Timbers have found the back of the net in 16 (84%) of their league contests – notching on multiple occasions in nine (68%) of them – and will be confident of maintaining their 100% goals-scoring record in front of their supporters this campaign against a Whitecaps defence that is without a clean sheet across each of their previous six road trips.
Vanni Sartini’s visitors have scored 26 goals across their opening 17 encounters in the MLS this campaign, with 13 (50%) of them coming on their travels.
The Caps have made the net bulge in 14 (82%) of their MLS contests – notching on multiple occasions in eight (47%) of them – and will look to breach a Timbers defence that is yet to register a clean sheet in front of their supporters this season, shipping two or more goals in six of their last seven MLS matches as hosts.

The Timbers’ opening 19 MLS fixtures have been full of goals this campaign, averaging 3.53 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals banking in 15 (79%) of them, including in 8/8 (100%) on home soil – and given both have obliged in 11/17 (65%) of The Caps’ MLS outings, with BTTS & Overs copping on min each of their last four – I’m hoping we see a similarly entertaining encounter to the five-goal thriller between these two sides in the reverse fixture in Canada at the end of March.
