After making it six winners from seven in Germany on Saturday, Sunday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the Swiss second tier, and I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.

Two clubs at opposite ends of the Swiss Challenge League table meet at the Stade de la Fontenette on Sunday afternoon as second-placed Etoile Carouge plays host to ninth-placed Schaffhausen in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Adrian Ursea’s hosts are the second-highest scorers in the Swiss Challenge League, slamming in 29 goals across their opening 16 matches, with 15 (52%) of them coming in front of their supporters.
Etoile Carouge have found the back of the net in all bar two of their league outings and in each of their past 11 – notching on multiple occasions in eight (50%) of them – and will look to continue their impressive goal-scoring run of form against a Schaffhausen backline without a shutout in each of their past six road trips, shipping multiple goals in five (83%) of them.
Ciriaco Sforza’s visitors have scored 21 goals across their opening 15 contests in the Swiss second tier, with 13 (62%) of them coming on their travels.
FCS have made the net bulge in all eight (100%) of their league encounters on the road – notching on multiple occasions in four of their past seven – and will look to maintain their goal-scoring record away from home against a Etoile Carouge defence that has recorded just two clean sheets in the league all season.

Schaffhausen’s opening 15 Swiss Challenge League fixtures have averaged 3.13 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals banking in nine of their previous 11, including in each of their past six on the road – and given the same has landed in eight of Etoile Carouge’s past 11 league outings – I’m hoping we see a similarly high-scoring encounter to the five-goal thriller these two sides produced in the reverse fixture on the opening day of the season.
