Sint-Truiden will look to continue their push towards European football next season as they welcome away-day strugglers Stamdard Liège to the Stayen in a fixture that I am keen to get the hosts on side.
Thorsten Fink’s hosts recorded three wins on the bounce for the first time this season, as they’ve followed up back-to-back home victories over Club Brugge and Westerlo by coming from two goals down to win 2-3 at Westerlo. Those victories mean that The Canaries currently occupy 2nd position in the Conference League playoff group, four points behind leaders Gent, with eight games remaining.
Ivan Leko’s visitors saw their three-match winning run at home come to an end last time out, as they were held to a goalless draw against Leuven. Les Rouches sit 4th in the Conference League playoff group, eight points behind their upcoming opponents and 12 points behind Gent, leaving their hopes for European qualification next season extremely thin.

Sint-Truiden have been strong at home all season, with only the top-three and reigning champions Antwerp earning more points than the 31 they have earned on home turf. After losing three of their opening five league outings in front of their supporters this campaign – against Union Saint-Gilloise (1st), Anderlecht (2nd) and Cercle Brugge (5th) – The Canaries have since gone on an 11-match unbeaten run on home soil (W7-D4-L0), winning each of their previous five. They will be confident of extending that unbeaten home record against a Liège side that is winless in each of their last 11 Pro League road trips, losing eight of them (W0-D3-L8).
Whilst I was tempted just to back the Sint-Truiden win at 13/10 (Bet365), I’m happy to play it a little safer and back Sint-Truiden -0.25 Asian Handicap. This would mean if the game were to end in a draw, we would only lose half our stake, whilst a win would reward us with a full payout.
