Two clubs separated only by two points in the Spanish Segunda table meet at the UD Almería Stadium tomorrow afternoon as second-placed Almería entertain sixth-placed Granada in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Rubi’s hosts are the leading scorers in the Segunda, slamming in an impressive 31 goals across their opening 16 matches, with 16 (52%) of them coming across their seven home fixtures.
Los Rojiblancos have failed to score in just one of their league outings, notching on multiple occasions in 13 (81%) of them – including in each of their past 12 – and will look to continue their scintillating form in front of goal against a Granada backline that has kept a solitary shutout across their past six road trips, shipping multiple goals in four (67%) of them.
Fran Escriba’s visitors are the joint second-highest scorers in the Spanish second tier, banging in 26 goals across their opening 16 encounters, with 12 (46%) of them coming across their seven road trips.
Just like their hosts, The Nazrids have failed to score in just one of their league outings – notching on multiple occasions in seven of their past 12 – and will look to find the target once again against an Almería defence that has kept just three clean sheets in the league this season, with all three coming against teams currently positioned in 17th and below.

Almería’s opening 16 Segunda fixtures this campaign have averaged a league-high 3.50 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals banking in 10 of their previous 12 – and given the same had landed in five of Granada’s previous six on the road – I’m hoping we see a similarly entertaining encounter to the six goals these two sides shared in their last meeting in this venue in October last year.
