Sunday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the Swedish top flight, and I’ve highlighted one fixture in particular that appeals to me for goals.

Two clubs separated by a solitary point in the Swedish Allsvenskan table meet at the Strandvallen on Sunday afternoon as fourth-placed Mjallby plays host to fifth-placed Elfsborg in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Mjallby have scored 28 goals across their opening 18 matches in the Allsvenskan this campaign, with 19 (68%) of them coming on home soil.
Anders Torstensson’s hosts have found the back of the net in each of their opening nine league outings in front of their supporters – notching on multiple occasions in six (67%) of them – and will look to add to their impressive goal-tally at home against an Elfsborg defence that is without a clean sheet in each of their previous seven road trips in the league, shipping multiple goals in six (86%) of them.
Oscar Hiljemark’s visitors are the joint third-highest scorers in the Swedish top flight, slamming in 35 goals across their opening 18 matches, with 14 (40%) of them coming across their five most recent contests.
Di Gule have failed to score in just three of their league outings this term – notching on multiple occasions in 10/18 (56%) of them – and will look to trouble a Mjallby backline that has recorded a solitary shutout across their previous 16 matches in the Allsvenskan.

Mjallby’s opening 18 fixtures in the Swedish top flight are averaging 2.94 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals banking in 13 (72%) of them.
Those numbers creep up when playing at home, with their opening nine league outings in front of their supporters averaging 3.33 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals copping in seven (78%) of them – and given the same has landed in 13/18 (72%) of Elfsborg’s league contests, including eight of their last 10 – I’m happy to have a punt on there being a minimum of three strikes, a selection that landed in the reverse fixture just under a month ago.
