Euro 2024 Bet of the day

Sunday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the Italian Serie A, and I’ve come up with a bet builder featuring one of the division’s surprise packages this season.

⚽️ Bologna vs Lecce

?? Serie A

⏰ Sunday 11th February, 14:00

European-chasing Bologna will look to continue their strong record at home as they welcome away-day strugglers Lecce to the Stadio Renato Dall'Ara, and I’ve come up with a bet builder where I’ve got the hosts onside, as well as adding in cards.

Bologna managed to put an end to their four-match winless run last time out, as they defeated Emilia-Romagnan rivals Sassuolo 4-2 in front of their supporters. Thiago Motta’s hosts currently occupy 6th spot in the Serie A table – just three points behind 4th-placed Atalanta – which is mainly due to their strong home form. After an opening day defeat at home to Milan, The Rossoblú have gone on to win eight and draw two of their 10 eight Serie A matches in front of their supporters, only dropping points in that run in a 0-0 draw at home to last season’s Scudetto winners Napoli back at the end of September, and a 1-1 stalemate against mid-table Genoa.

Lecce managed to put an end to their six-match winless run in Serie A last weekend, as they scored twice late on to defeat Fiorentina 3-2. Whilst that was Lecce’s fifth success on home soil this term, Roberto D'Aversa’s visitors remain one of three sides in the Italian top-flight yet to collect maximum points on their travels this term (W0-D5-L6) – with that record changing to W0-D1-L5 when travelling to top-half sides – and I don’t expect them to claim their maiden away win in Emilia-Romagna on Sunday afternoon.

Bet of the Day

I was tempted to back the outright home win, but instead, I’m happy to select the high-flying hosts to score at least once and avoid defeat, something they have achieved in nine of their last 10 on home soil and something that has also landed in all 11 (100%) of Genoa’s away games in Serie A this season.

To nudge up the price, I’m happy to back the hosts to pick up a card and for the visitors to earn two or more. Bologna have been shown a card in each of their opening 22 Serie A contests this term but have also drawn two or more cards from 21/22 (95%) of their Serie A opponents, whilst Lecce have been issued with multiple cards in all 11 (100%) of their Serie A encounters on the road this campaign.

  • Bologna to Score 0.5 Goals, Bologna Double Chance, Bologna Over 0.5 Cards & Lecce Over 1.5 Cards
  • Pays 17/20 (BetVictor Bet Builder)
