Thursday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the Italian Serie A and I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.

Lazio will look to continue their impressive start to the season as they travel to the picturesque Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia tomorrow evening in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Cesc Fabregas’s hosts have scored 11 goals across their opening nine matches back in the Italian top flight, with six (55%) of them coming across their three home fixtures.
The Lariani have made the net bulge in five of their past six Serie A contests and all three (100%) on home soil – notching on multiple occasions in 2/3 (67%) of their contests in front of their supporters – and will look to trouble a Lazio defence that has kept a solitary shutout in Serie A this season, shipping multiple goals in 3/4 (75%) of their road trips.
Marco Baroni’s have slammed in 17 goals across their opening nine Serie A contests this campaign, with five (29%) of them coming across their four road trips.
Only Juventus have prevented Lazio from scoring in Serie A this season – with The Biancocelesti striking on multiple occasions in six (67%) of their contests – and will be confident of breaching a Como defence that is yet to register a clean sheet since their return to Serie A this term, shipping 16 goals.

Lazio’s opening nine Serie A encounters this term have averaged 3.22 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals banking in a joint league-high eight (89%) of them – and given the same has landed in four of Como’s last six league outings – I’m happy to have a play on there being a minimum of three strikes between these two sides in Lombardy on Thursday evening.
