Following last night’s late winner in Italy, Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the German Bundesliga, and there is one fixture in particular that appeals to me for both goals and cards.

Champions League-chasing Stuttgart travel to Sinsheim to take on 7th-placed Hoffenheim in a fixture that appeals to me for goals and cards.
Pellegrino Matarazzo’s hosts have scored 44 goals across their opening 25 Bundesliga matches this term, with 19 (43%) of them coming on home soil. The Sinsheim-based club have found the back of the net in all bar two of their Bundesliga fixtures this season – scoring two or more in 13 (52%) of them – and will look to find the target once again against a Stuttgart defence that kept just two clean sheets away from home all season – at Union Berlin (14th) and Köln (16th) – and none in their last eight.
Sebastian Hoeneß‘s visitors are the third-highest scorers in the Bundesliga, scoring 57 goals across their opening 25 matches, with 20 (35%) of them coming on their travels. Die Roten have failed to score in just three of their Bundesliga contests this season – scoring on multiple occasions in 18 (72%) of them, including in six of their previous seven – and will be confident of breaching a Hoffenheim backline that has registered a solitary clean sheet in the Bundesliga, with that coming at Union Berlin at the end of September.

Hoffenheim’s opening 25 fixtures in the Bundesliga this campaign are averaging an impressive 3.64 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals clicking in 18 (72%) of them – and given the same has landed in five of Stuttgart’s previous seven Bundesliga outings on the road – I’m hoping we see a similar outcome to the five-goal thriller these sides produced in the reverse fixture at the end of October.
To nudge up the price, I’m happy to throw in for there to be a minimum of three cards, with the hosts picking up at least one of them, a selection that has landed in each of Hoffenheim’s previous 24 Bundesliga fixtures.
