Thursday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the Irish top flight, and I’ve highlighted one fixture in particular that I expect to be a low-scorer.

Two clubs separated only by five points in the Irish Premier Division table meet at Eamonn Deacy Park tomorrow evening as 5th-placed Galway play host to 8th-placed Bohemians in a fixture that I’m keen to oppose goals.
John Caulfield’s hosts are the second-lowest scorers in the Irish Premier Division, scoring just 17 goals across their opening 21 matches, with eight (38%) of them coming on home soil.
The Tribesmen have failed to score in 11/21 (52%) of their league outings – including in 6/10 (60%) of them in front of their supporters – and face a Bohemiams defence that has registered four clean sheets from their 10 road trips this term.
Alan Reynolds’ visitors have scored 21 goals across their opening 20 matches in the Irish top flight this term, with 11 (55%) of them coming on their travels.
The Bohs have failed to score in 6/20 (30%) of their league outings – including in three of their last five away from home – and will find it tough against a Galway defence that has conceded just 15 goals in the league this season, keeping clean sheets in 11/21 (52%) of their matches, including in each of their previous five on home soil.

Galway’s opening 21 fixtures in the Irish top flight are averaging a league-low 1.52 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score – No paying out in a league-high 17 (81%) of them.
What’s more, that goals average drops to 1.30 goals per game when playing at home, with both teams failing to score in 9/10 (90%) of them – and given the same has landed in 4 of Bohemians previous five on their travels – I’m happy to have a punt on Both Teams to Score – No, a selection that has paid out in both of their previous meetings in the Irish top flight this season.
