Two clubs looking to claim their first win in the new Europa League league phase meet in Istanbul on Thursday evening as Turkish giants Besiktas welcome 2021/22 winners Eintracht Frankfurt to Besiktas Park in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s hosts have scored 27 goals across their opening 10 domestic and European fixtures this season, with 13 (48%) of them coming on home soil.
The Black Eagles have only failed to score in their 4-0 defeat away at Ajax on MD1 last week this season – notching on multiple occasions in 8/10 (80%) of them – and will look to trouble an Eintracht backline that has recorded a solitary shutout across their six Bundesliga and Europa League fixtures this season, shipping five goals in their last two.
Dino Toppmoller’s visitors have scored 14 goals across their opening six Bundesliga and Europa League fixtures this campaign, with six (43%) of them coming across their three road trips.
After failing to score in a 2-0 defeat at Dortmund on the opening game of the season, Die Adler have struck two or more goals in each of their next five – scoring three or more in three (60%) of them – and will look to breach a Besiktas backline that has shipped eight goals across their three Europa League fixtures this season.

Besiktas’s opening 10 domestic and European fixtures this season have averaged an eye-catching 3.9 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals in seven (70%) of them – and given Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals has landed in four of Frankfurt’s past five matches – I’m happy to have a punt on there being at least three strikes in Istanbul tomorrow evening, with both of these high-scoring sides finding the target.
