Football Bet of the Day

After making it four successive winners in China on Friday, Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the English Premier League, and I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.

⚽️ Aston Villa vs Fulham

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Premier League

⏰ Saturday 3 May, 12:30

Aston Villa will look to keep their hopes of Champions League qualification alive at Saturday lunchtime as they welcome eighth-placed Fulham to Villa Park in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.

Unai Emery’s hosts have scored 54 goals across their opening 34 Premier League fixtures this season, with 31 (57%) of them coming in front of their supporters.

The Villans have found the back of the net in all bar one of their previous 16 Premier League contests in front of their supporters – notching 2+ goals in 11 (69%) of them – and will be confident of breaching a Fulham defence that has kept just three clean sheets on their travels this season and just one in their past 12.

Marco Silva’s visitors have scored 50 goals across their opening 34 Premier League fixtures this season, with 24 (48%) of them coming on their travels.

The Cottagers have found the back of the net in all bar one of their previous 16 Premier League clashes on the road – notching 2+ goals in seven of their last 10 – and will look to breach a Villa backline that has recorded a solitary shutout across their past 13 Premier League encounters at Villa Park, with that coming against rock-bottom Southampton.

Bet of the Day

Aston Villa’s opening 17 contests in the Premier League at Villa Park this term have averaged three goals per game, with Both Teams to Score paying out in a league-high 14 (82%) of them – including in each of their last nine and 12 of their past 14 – whilst seven of their previous nine and 11 of their last 15 16 front of their supporters have produced three or more goals.

Fulham are the Both Teams to Score kings in the Premier League this season, with 25/34 (74%) of their matches having produced goals at both ends – including nine of their last 11 and 11 of their past 14 away from home – whilst eight of their previous 10 clashes on the road have produced three or more goals.
