Euro 2024 Bet of the day

After making it six winners from seven to begin the month of March in Holland last night, Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the Bundesliga, and there is one match in particular that appeals to me for both goals and cards.

⚽️ FC Augsburg vs 1. FC Heidenheim

?? Bundesliga

⏰ Saturday 9th March, 14:30

Two clubs separated by just one place and one point in the Bundesliga table meet at the WWK Arena as 10th-placed Augsburg entertain 11th-placed Heidenheim in a fixture that appeals to me for both goals and cards.

Jess Thorup’s hosts have scored 39 goals across their opening 24 Bundesliga matches this term, with 22 (56%) of them coming in front of their supporters. Only runaway league leaders Bayer Leverkusen have prevented Augsburg from scoring at home in the Bundesliga this season, with The Fuggerstädter scoring on multiple occasions in 8/12 (67%) of them – and will be confident of finding the target once again on home soil against a Heidenheim defence that has registered a solitary clean sheet on their Bundesliga travels this term (at 17th-placed Mainz), shipping multiple goals in 8/12 (67%) of them.

Heidenheim have scored 34 goals across their maiden 24 Bundesliga fixtures this term, with 14 (41%) of them coming on their travels. Frank Schmidt’s visitors have found the back of the net in 20/24 (83%) of their Bundesliga contests – including in 10 of their previous 11 road trips – and will look to get on the scoresheet once again against an Augsburg defence who had failed to keep a single clean sheet in the Bundesliga this season prior to their 0-6 mauling of rock-bottom Darmstadt last weekend.

Bet of the Day

Augsburg’s opening 12 Bundesliga fixtures on home soil this campaign are averaging an eye-catching 3.58 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score banking in 11 (92%) of them – and given the same has landed in nine of Heidenheim’s previous 11 Bundesliga road trips – I’m happy to have a punt on both of these sides finding the target once again.

To nudge up the price, I’m happy to throw in for there to be a minimum of three cards, with the hosts picking up at least one of them, a selection that has landed in 21/24 (88%) of Augsburg’s Bundesliga fixtures this season. What's more, 19/24 (79%) of Heidenheim's Bundesliga encounters have featured a minimum of three cards, with all bar one of their opponents picking up a card.

  • Both Teams to Score, Augsburg Over 0.5 Cards & Over 2.5 Cards
  • Pays 49/50 (BetVictor)
