Euro 2024 Bet of the day

Following on from Monday’s easy winner in Norway, Tuesday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me focus on the first leg of the promotion/relegation Eredivisie playoff, and I’ve come up with a goals-based selection.

⚽️ NAC Breda vs Excelsior

🇳🇱 Eredivisie Playoffs

⏰ Tuesday 28th May, 19:00

Second-tier NAC Breda welcomes Eredivisie side Excelsior to the Rat Verlegh Stadion in the first leg of their Eredivisie Promotion Playoff tomorrow night in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.

Jean-Paul van Gastel’s hosts have scored 75 goals across their 42 Eerste Divisie/Eredivisie playoff fixtures this term, with 33 (44%) of them coming on home soil.

The Breda-based club have found the back of the net in all bar one of their 21 Eerste Divisie/Eredivisie playoff fixtures in front of their supporters – notching on multiple occasions in nine (43%) of them – and will look to trouble an Excelsior defence that has shipped multiple goals in 15/18 (88%) of their Eredivisie/Eredivisie playoff road trips this season.

Despite finishing in the relegation playoff spot in the Eredivisie, Marinus Dijkhuizen’s visitors were the 9th-highest scorers in the division, scoring 50 goals across their 34 contests, with 24 (48%) of them coming on their travels.

The Kralingers have found the back of the net in 14/18 (78%) of their road trips in the Eredivisie/Eredivisie playoffs – scoring on multiple occasions in nine (50%) of them – and after scoring nine goals across both legs of their semi-final success against ADO Den Haag, will be confident of breaching a NAC defence that kept just five clean sheets across their 21 Eredivisie/Eredivisie playoffs in front of their supporters this season, with four (80%) of them coming against sides that finished in the bottom-half of the Eerste Divisie table.

Bet of the Day

Overall, Excelsior’s 18 Eredivisie/Eredivisie playoff fixtures this campaign averaged a remarkable 4.06 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals banking in 17 (94%) of them and Over 3.5 Goals in 12 (67%) of them.

Meanwhile, NAC Breda’s 21 Eerste Divisie/Eredivisie playoff fixtures on home soil have averaged 2.95 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals paying out in 9/11 (82%) of their meetings with sides who finished the regular Eerste Divisie season in the top half, with six (55%) of them producing four or more goals.

Therefore, I’m happy to back the Over 3.0 Asian goal. This would mean if there are exactly three goals scored, we will receive our stake back, whilst four or more strikes will reward a full payout.

  • Over 3.0 Asian Goal Line
  • Pays 9/10 (Bet365/William Hill)
