After frustratingly falling a goal short at Dundee on Saturday, Sunday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the French Ligue 1, and I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.

Two clubs at opposite ends of the Ligue 1 table meet at the Stade Vélodrome on Sunday evening as second-placed Marseille host 14th-placed Nantes in a fixture that appeals to me for goals at both ends.
Roberto De Zerbi’s hosts are the second-highest scorers in the French Ligue 1, slamming in 50 goals across their opening 23 matches, with 23 (46%) of them coming on home soil.
Les Phoceens have found the back of the net in all bar four of their Ligue 1 outings this term, including in 10/11 (91%) of them on home soil – notching on multiple occasions in 15 (65%) of them – and will be confident of breaching a Nantes defence that has recorded a solitary shutout across their past 21 Ligue 1 encounters.
Antoine Kombouare’s visitors have scored 28 goals across their opening 23 Ligue 1 encounters this campaign, with 14 (50%) of them coming on their travels.
The Canaries have found the back of the net in 19 of their past 22 Ligue 1 contests – including in each of their last eight and 10 of their previous 11 road trips – and will look to breach a Marseille defence that has kept just four clean sheets in the French top flight this campaign, with just one of those coming at home back in September.

Marseille’s opening 23 Ligue 1 encounters this term have averaged an eye-catching 3.43 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score banking in 15 (65%) of them, including in each of their last seven and 9/11 (82%) of them overall in front of their supporters.
Nantes’s opening 23 Ligue 1 contests this campaign have averaged 2.96 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score paying out in 17 of their last 21 matches – including in each of their past eight and 10 of their previous 11 on the road – and goals at both ends appeal to me at the Velodrome on Sunday night.
