After returning to winning ways in Nijmegen on Sunday, Monday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the Italian top flight, and I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.

Two of the form teams in Serie A meet at the Olimpico this evening as fifth-placed Lazio hosts 10th-placed Udinese in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Marco Baroni’s hosts are the third-highest scorers in Serie A, slamming in 49 goals across their opening 27 contests, with 27 (55%) of them coming on home soil.
Only leaders Inter have prevented Lazio from scoring at The Olimpico in the Italian top flight this term – with The Biancocelesti striking on multiple occasions in 9/13 (69%) of them – and will look to trouble a Udinese defence that’s kept just two clean sheets on their travels this season, with both coming against Hellas Verona (15th) and goal-shy Lecce (16th).
Kosta Runjaic’s visitors have scored 34 goals across their opening 27 Serie A contests this season, with 15 (44%) of them coming on their travels.
The Friulani have found the back of the net in 21/27 (78%) of their matches in Serie A – including in eight of their previous nine on their travels – and will look to breach a Lazio backline that has registered just two clean sheets at home in Serie A this season, with neither of those arriving in any of their last six encounters.

Lazio’s opening 27 fixtures in Serie A this season have averaged 3.11 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score paying out in 18 (67%) of them.
Those numbers rise when playing at their Olimpico base, with their opening 13 Serie A contests in front of their supporters averaging an eye-catching 3.54 goals per game, with 10 (77%) of those featuring goals at both ends.
Udinese’s opening 13 Serie A clashes on their travels this campaign have averaged 2.69 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score landing in nine (69%) of them – including in seven of their past nine.
What’s more, the past three meetings between the pair have seen Both Teams to Score land – including a 2-1 success for Udinese in the reverse fixture back in August – and I’m hoping this trend continues in Rome this evening.
