Two clubs who have made contrasting starts to the season meet at the Pirelli Stadium on Tuesday evening as bottom side Burton Albion plays his to third-placed Wycombe in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Wycombe began the season by coming out on the wrong side of 3-2 scorelines away at Wrexham and at home to Birmingham, but since then have gone from strength to strength.
Matt Bloomfield’s visitors have then gone on an eight-match unbeaten run (W6-D2-L0), with their 3-1 comeback victory at home to Peterborough at the weekend positioned The Chairboys in third position in the League One table, behind the only two sides who have beaten them in the league this campaign in Birmingham (1st) and Wrexham (2nd).
In contrast, Burton Albion are now the only winless side across the entire EFL, with Mark Robinson’s new side picking up just four points across their opening 10 league matches (W0-D4-L6).
The Brewers’ 2-1 defeat away at Bolton at the weekend was their fifth in a row – a result that also saw them slip to the foot of the League One table at Cambridge United’s expense and sit four points adrift of safety.
