Draper hasn’t dropped a set, which is crazy, but he hasn’t really played that many tough opponents. The draw opened up quite well for him, and he’s taken care of that. He is, though, playing on a high level; that part is true.
How the bookies view it: Sinner heavy favourite
Sinner, as the world No. 1, is of course the heavy favourite. It makes sense because he is the better player overall, not just here in New York, but over the last 12 months.
The Italian winning is priced at 1/5 which are very low odds for a Grand Slam semi-final, but that’s how much better he is deemed to be. On the opposing end, though, Draper is priced at 4/1, which are great odds, but he’s not very likely to win this one.

While Draper does lead the head-to-head 1-0, the Brit hasn’t played Sinner in a while. That match came in 2021, and it happened on grass, which is likely his best surface. He was able to get the upset there, but it’s not likely he’ll repeat that this Friday.

The problem for Draper in this one largely comes down to the matchup. It’s not a good one because he’ll have to beat Sinner from the baseline.
