After reports emerged this week that Barcelona star Dani Olmo may leave the club in January, wild speculation has been sparked as to which club he may move to should he depart Camp Nou.
The Spanish midfielder only joined the Blaugrana in summer 2024, for a reported fee of £47 million from RB Leipzig, but his term with the club has been marred with difficulties.
Initially, he was unable to be registered due to wage restrictions present for La Liga clubs. An injury to Andreas Christensen allowed the Danish centre-back to be removed from the squad to make way for Olmo, but the issues have not stopped there.
Olmo's temporary registration is set to expire in January, and a clause in his contract states that if he is unable to be registered for the second half of the La Liga season due to Barca's ongoing financial turmoil, then he is permitted to leave the club on a free transfer.
Having penned a six-year deal, this would be a truly catastrophic piece of business from Barcelona if Olmo were to leave, and so they are working tirelessly to fix the issue.
However, provided the Spaniard were to leave, we have laid out some predictions for his next possible destination, and which clubs would be willing to take on the 26-year-old.

Selections to watch
Manchester City – 3/1
In the summer of 2024, Manchester City were at one point evens to sign Olmo. Now, with the club experiencing their worst run of form in the past decade, they could do with a player of Olmo's calibre more than ever.
With prime creators Bernardo Silva and Kevin De Bruyne beginning to age, a spot seems to be open in the Citizens' side for a new midfield magician. At 26 years of age, Olmo is entering the prime of his career, and has managed five goals in seven starts in La Liga this season.
This could be exactly the sort of goalscoring midfielder that City are crying out for. It has now been more than a calendar year since Jack Grealish scored for Pep Guardiola's side, with new signing Savinho also incapable of getting himself on the scoresheet at present.
With this in mind, we project 3/1 odds for Olmo to bolster City's midfield and turn around their current streak of one win in 11 if he departs Camp Nou.
Bayern Munich – 8/1
Vincent Kompany's Bayern Munich are another club that demonstrated interest in the Spanish midfielder last summer.
Bayern are famed for being capable of taking the Bundesliga's best players to form the league's most elite outfit, and, had Olmo joined, he would have added to the long list of case studies.
However, Olmo opted for Barca, but there is little to say that he would not favour a return to the Bundesliga. The silky midfielder enjoyed five seasons with RB Leipzig, where he made 107 league appearances and scored 17 goals. He also managed to notch 24 assists during this time.
Bayern currently sit atop the Bundesliga table by four points, and adding Olmo to their ranks could make their push for a 33rd league title even stronger.
PSG – 12/1
PSG had some interest in Olmo during the summer, but no formal bid ever came to light from the French giants.
However, when considering their problems in the Champions League so far, signing one of Spain's Euros-winning talismans could be an astute piece of business.
PSG have particularly struggled for goals in Europe this season, managing only six in as many games. They have only racked up seven points across their fixtures, and are in real danger of going out.
Luis Enrique operates a compact, high possession 4-3-3 style, which plays to Olmo's strengths considering his success with the Spanish national team.
Although they may be an unlikely suitor, do not count PSG out of contention to secure the Spaniard's signature in January.
