THE Old White TPC course is the host for the Greenbrier Classic and GIR stats are worth looking at.
In 2016 the course was flooded with water up to six feet deep in places. A total refurbishment was required and architect Keith Frost led the project which saw the whole course re-seeded, re-surfaced and re-contoured.
All the bunkers were rebuilt and all 18 greens re-seeded. It’s a classic layout with tree-lined fairways and there are no par 5s on the outward nine and the 18th is a par 3. Anyone can win here but one prerequisite will be he will be good with the flat stick.

Webb Simpson
Simpson looks a good fit for the Old White TPC. He has three top 10s and a T14 in seven appearances at the West Virginia course. He won The Players in May and five other top 10s this season.
Overall it’s not been a bad season for the guy from North Carolina and with five PGA Tour wins since 2011. His T10 at the US Open was a great result and shows he is more than capable of holding his own in tough conditions and taking on the big boys.
He’s played here every year and although the course was virtually rebuilt in 2016 it hasn’t really changed much so his knowledge will stand him in good stead.

Brian Harman
Harman might not be a long hitter off the tee but more than makes up for it in his overall game. At the beginning of the season he had four top 10ss in his first four outings. Since then two top 10s in the WGC Mexico Championships and WGC Dell Match Play plus a T6 at the Travellers in his last outing shows his form is good. Has played here three times and has not had a great deal of success but I think he’s definitely worth a wager.
