Racing tips: Weveallbeencaught can make a winning chasing debut at Cheltenham

The return of Cheltenham was a very welcomed one as two of the three selections managed to win and win with relative ease. The third horse, and my NAP on the day couldn't get going quick enough and eventually didn't have enough time even though he was staying up the hill. Hopefully, some of you got on and maybe had the EW treble which returned an okay amount.

Doncaster 2:10 – Dancing Gemini 5/1 (1pt PaddyPower)

With the Friday Doncaster meeting being abandoned, god knows if today's meeting will go ahead, but I think they didn't race on Friday to ensure Saturday goes ahead as this is the final Group 1 on British soil and the official end to the flat season.

If it does go ahead, then I think Dancing Gemini could spring a small shock in the Group 1 on ground which he seems to relish. He put in a monster performance over 7f on soft ground at Doncaster last time out in the Listed race, he was literally gliding on the testing ground whilst the others were not having as good of a time. If he was trained by a bigger and more well-known trainer like a Charlie Appleby or Aidan O'Brien I think you could argue he'd be vying for favourtism, as his run last time out was so visually impressive, it's hard not to be taken back by it.

He has to prove he stays a mile on testing ground, but based on lto I think he should have no problem at all. this doesn't look like a vintage renewal, so I'm more than happy going for the third favourite.

Doncaster 3:20 – Glorious Angel 13/2 (0.5pt EW PaddyPower 4pl)

Grant Tuer might have found the key to Glorious Angel, which seems quite ridiculous as this filly has run like twenty times for her new trainer, but she put in a great performance last time out over 5f, which was her first run at this trip since she won at Newcastle earlier this January, which makes you question why she hasn't been running over this trip.

Though she didn't manage to win last time out, I thought she put in a lovely run and it was something to build on. They clearly believe this trip is something they can exploit off her current handicap mark, which might be tough but she is still relatively unexposed at the trip and Connor Planas remains in the saddle as he rode her last time out, and he is a good 3lb jockey.

One of Nick Bradley's many syndicates won this race last year so they'll be going for the back-to-back.

Cheltenham 2:25 – Amirite 5/1 (1pt)

This race is crying out for an unexposed horse to come in and sweep by and it's full of horses who are on tough marks or haven't beaten a great deal in the grand scheme of things.

I was toying of going with Undersupervision as he does run decently well at Cheltenham, but I wouldn't say he's ridiculously well-handicapped off a mark of 135. I wouldn't want to touch Quick Draw with a barge pole as I don't think his form is worth anything, he is trained by a master in Nicky Henderson so I can understand why he would be strongly fancied but in the end I've opted for the Henry De Bromhead runner, Amirite.

I get the impression there's still a fair bit to come from this horse and he just hasn't quite shown it yet. He started well to his life over fences last year when winning once and being competitive in a couple of Graded races. He didn't end the season how connections would've wanted as he was a disappointing PU favourite in the Irish national but Henry seems to think that the bottomless ground wasn't for his liking and today's ground at Cheltenham is what would be deemed as his ideal ground. He was behind a couple of decent horses at Naas with the likes of Thedevilscoachman and Ramillies, both quite high rated horses and Chemical Energy was in behind, who finished 2nd at Cheltenham last year.

You can say Lord Accord is handicapped to win this race, and he will be primed for this but did he really beat much last year?

Cheltenham 4:10 – Weveallbeencaught 3/1 (1pt PaddyPower)

I mean, if Flooring Porter takes to fences then he's going to be one tough nut to crack in this contest as he is the class act over hurdles, but it seems like their hand has been forced to go chasing rather than by choice as he simply can't cut it at the top level anymore over 3m. I'll take him on with Weveallbeencaught who I've been itching to see over fences since I saw him run over hurdles and tipped him up once last year.

This horse is made for chasing, he is a very big horse who would've been planned to be a 3m chaser the moment the Twiston-Davies lot saw him. He stays well, obviously, I don't know if he jumps well but Nigel has been firing in the winners recently so there's little to believe that he won't make a chaser, and as we saw with Idalko Bihoue, who fell on debut but won yesterday, he clearly drills them and gives them plenty of confidence when jumping a fence.
