Marcos Baghdatis dumped Andy Murray out of the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam with a surprise straight sets victory.

The British No.1, who was playing in his first match since his Australian Open final defeat, should have been preparing for a quarter-final clash in the ATP 500 event with Ivan Ljubicic this morning but his Cypriot opponent had other ideas and now leads Murray 3-1 overall.

Baghdatis is favourite (4-9 Betfred, Blue Sq, Paddy Power, 888sport) to see off Croatian Ljubicic (2-1, Bet365, Boylesports, Victor Chandler, Bodog) although he may require three sets reach the semi-finals. Baghdatis to win 2-1 is 3-1 at Boylesports and Stan James. Ljubicic is 9-2 with Totesport, Betfred, Paddy Power and William Hill.

The winner will play either Czech world No.7 Tomas Berdych (5-6, Sportingbet) or world No.18 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of France (6-5 Stan James).

Berdych to win 2-1 is 10-3 with Boylesports, Tsonga 4s at Bet365 and Stan James.

With Murray out of the way top seed Robin Soderling's hopes of retaining his Rotterdam title have improved and next up for the Swede is Russian Mikhail Youzhny in a repeat of the 2010 final.

World No.4 Soderling is priced 1-3 (Sportingbet, Blue Sq, Paddy Power,  888sport, William Hill) with Youzhny (5-2, Bet365, Boylesports, Betfred, Stan James). This is another match that is likely to require three sets.

Soderling 2-1 is 16-5 with Sportingbet, Youzhny, with the same margin of victory, 6s with Bet365, Sportingbet and Stan James.

The remaining quarter-final sees Marin Cilic of Croatia (4-5, Skybet, Betfred) line up against Serbian Viktor Troicki (11-10, Bet365, Boylesports, Paddy Power and Stan James).

Cilic to win in three sets is 10-3 at Skybet and Betfred, Troicki 4-1 at Stan James.
