SlipsTips shares a selection from Strasbourg's clash with Reims in Ligue 1 on Sunday lunchtime.
Strasbourg vs Reims (Sunday, 12:00)
Two teams seeking their first Ligue 1 wins of the season square off on Sunday afternoon, as Strasbourg face Reims.
Julien Stéphan’s hosts opened with a 2-1 defeat at Monaco but that was followed up with a well-deserved 1-1 draw at Nice last time out.
Reims, on the other hand, have yet to put a point on the board following a pair of heavy defeats against both Marseille and Clermont Foot respectively.
That means Oscar Garcia’s side are propping up the table after two rounds of fixtures and Strasbourg are strong favourites to add to Red and Whites' woes.
Strasbourg backers will be offered a general 3/4 about Julien Stéphan’s side securing their first league win of the season but we can get some even-money (William Hill) on the home team scoring two or more goals and that looks a little too big to ignore.
While Strasbourg are not nessciisalry a team you would associate with scoring goals, they did make the net bulge in all but three of their 19 Ligue 1 home matches last season.
In fact, Les Bleu et Blanc were the seventh top-scorers in the French top-flight last term, and they have already showcased their attacking ability this season, having scored against big hitters Monaco and Nice.
As for Reims, they are conceding at an alarming rate and their 4-2 capitulation at home to Clermont Foot means they have now shipped eight goals across their opening two league games of the season.
It’s also worth pointing out that Reims’ injury list shows no signs of shrinking, as they come into this game with eight players either ruled out or doubtful.
With this in mind, coupled with the fact the visitors have leaked four goals in each of their two Ligue 1 games this season so far, supporting Strasbourg to strike twice stands out at a value even-money (William Hill).
