LEICESTER City will be aiming to get their bid for a top-four finish back on track when they host Crystal Palace at the King Power on Saturday.
The Foxes have faltered since the restart, taking just two points from encounters with lowly Watford and Brighton before falling to a 2-1 defeat at Everton on Wednesday evening.
Consequently, Leicester's grip on third-place has loosened and certain permutations this weekend could see the King Power club fall out of the top-four.
What's more, Rodgers and Co crashed out of the FA Cup last weekend when falling to a 1-0 defeat at home to Chelsea.
Standing in Leicester's way of a much-needed shot in the arm on Saturday is a Crystal Palace outfit who sit 12th in the Premier League table.
The Eagles have exceeded expectations this season under Roy Hodgson's astute management, however, the capital club will come into this clash off the back of back-to-back defeats at hands of Liverpool and Burnley respectively.
Outright Betting
Leicester, despite winning just one of their last eight Premier League matches, are odds-on at 7/10 with UniBet.
Crystal Palace are big outsiders at 5/1 with Bet 365 while a point apiece is trading at 11/4 with Betway.
Betting Angles
Leicester desperately need to breathe life back into their quest for Champions League qualification, however, I suspect this King Power clash could be a lot closer than what the betting suggests.
Crystal Palace are a well-schooled side and I fully expect Hodgson to set his team up to defend deep and in numbers in an effort to try and limit Leicester.
Five of the Eagles last six Premier League outings have produced under 2.5 goals and eight of the south Londoners last 11 road trips have generated less than three strikes – a repeat this weekend is available at 4/6 with most firms.
There is little value in siding with the above-mentioned punt on Saturday, however, I do fancy Leicester to win their fair share of corners when trying to find a way through a lean Palace backline.
The hosts may have to be patient here and I suspect the Foxes will try to use the width of their two full-backs to do just that, which in turn should see the Rodgers side rack up a few corner kicks.
Indeed, there is limited value in solely backing Leicester corners, however, I'm happy to back the hosts at 10/11 (Bet 365) to beat a -3 corner handicap here given that they're in must-win territory coupled with Hodgson's pragmatic setup.
The Foxes average 5.8 corners per game while their guest conceded 6.4 and it's worth noting that Leicester accumulated more corners than both Chelsea and Everton in each of their last two matches.
That line of thought has also lured me towards the combination of Leicester over four corners and Crystal Palace 20+ booking points which can be backed at 5/6 with William Hill.
I'm also happy to add a couple of Palace cards on an afternoon where the Eagles can be expected to be on the back foot for long spells and with that in mind, the above-mentioned angle with William Hill takes appeal.
