ENBIHAAR (2.40) will be hard to knock over in the 1m 6f DFS Park Hill Stakes on Ladies' Day at Doncaster.
John Gosden’s dual Group 2 winner Enbihaar has to concede 13lb to some very smart three-year-olds but looks up to the task. She has revelled on fast summer ground, mopping up the Qatar Lillie Langtry Stakes at Goodwood by five lengths and proving too good in the bet365 Lancashire Oaks at Haydock. Frankie Dettori steered Dame Malliott to a head victory over Love So Deep in a Group 2 at Deauville last month and Ed Vaughan’s filly may do best of the Classic generation.
STYLISTIQUE (2.10) is lumbered with top weight in the opening 6f nursery but Roger Varian’s filly was beaten less than two lengths when running fourth to Boomer in the Group 3 Prestige Stakes at Goodwood. Runner-up Dark Lady has since come out to land a Group 3 at Salisbury, so Stylistique sets a very decent standard of form.
With 22 runners declared for the £300,000 sales race for two-year-olds, it may pay to shop around for the best each-way terms, with Paddy Power offering five places. GLASVEGAS (3.15) posted a tremendous effort at Royal Ascot when finishing a close third to Southern Hills and Platinum Star in the Windsor Castle Stakes (soft) and should be on the premises. Keith Dalglish is sending out a steady stream of winners and as long as stall four and a slick surface don’t pose problems, Glasvegas could well hit the jackpot.
The William Hill May Hill Stakes, a Group 2 for juvenile fillies, is a tight call but Mark Johnston’s WEST END GIRL (3.45) made all to land the Sweet Solera Stakes on quick ground at Newmarket. The daughter of Derby winner Golden Horn looks sure to appreciate the step up to a mile and is just preferred to Boomer and Aidan O’Brien’s Cork winner Passion as an each-way alternative to hot favourite Cloak Of Spirits.
