THE only online bookie that lists SPFL and cup first-scorer prices for every game are McBookie.
McBookie‘s Damian Walker is back with his first-scorer tips and he’s also challenging punters to pick their own. Every week one person with a correct prediction will be chosen at random to win a £10 bet.
Last week’s winner was Paul Clark of Erskine – he was one of several people to tip Ryan Hardie to score first for Raith at 15-2..
You can comment with your pick here and give any reasoning but to enter the contest you have to email [email protected] Bonus excluders don’t qualify for the prize.

Damian says: “Sadly Rory Loy’s goal last weekend for St Mirren in the IRN-BRU Challenge Cup Final came a minute after Dundee Utd’s opener.
“Last week I also tipped up Stirling Albion and while they won sadly there was no correct first scorer selection but I am sticking with the Binos again this week. This weekend they entertain League Two leaders Forfar and on current form they shouldn’t be as big as 12-5.
“Stirling’s impressive form has seen them win their last six matches, taking them from a relegation battle to within just five points of the play-offs. While Stirling’s recent form reads WWWWWW, Forfar’s is LDDLDL. Yet the Loons are 21-20 to win the game.
“I just can’t have them at that price and the value has to be with a Stirling first scorer. Ross Kavanagh has been a large part of their revival and has bagged four goals from his last eight matches. McBookie make him 14-1 for the first goal and that looks good.
“Staying in League Two and bookies clearly haven’t been taking account of Elgin’s dreadful recent form. Not so long ago they were challenging the league leaders but now are in danger of not even making the play-offs.
“Their form figures read LDLDDL yet are 13-20 to win their home game against Berwick on Saturday. And remember Berwick have already beaten league leaders Forfar twice in the past six weeks.
“Berwick’s Greg Rutherford has been in blinding form and has scored five goals from his last five games. Yet because Elgin are so short in the betting Rutherford can be backed at 10-1 with McBookie to be the game’s first scorer.
“Finally in League One McBookie have closed the book on the title betting with Livingston 11 points clear but they are too short at 8-13 for their visit to Brechin.
“The Hedgemen have won four of the last six games and the only loss in that run was to second-placed Alloa. With home advantage and a decent run of form they shouldn’t be 22-5 to beat Livi.
“Andy Jackson has been a prolific scorer for Brechin with 56 goals from 154 games since joining almost five years ago. And Jackson has probably never been in better form. The striker has scored in six games in a row and eight of the last nine.
“Once again because Livi are so short in the betting Jackson can be backed at 13-2 with McBookie to score in his seventh consecutive match.
“Can you find a winner this weekend!”
Kavanagh (Stirling) 14-1
Rutherford (Berwick) 10-1
Jackson (Brechin) 13-2
