The 2026 World Cup is the biggest edition in the tournament’s history, as 48 nations headed to Mexico, Canada and the United States to battle for football’s most coveted prize.
Brazil, the most successful team in World Cup history with five titles to their name, were housed in Group C alongside Morocco, Scotland and Haiti.
With only two automatic qualification spots available, the battle for progression was fiercely contested, and with that in mind, MrFixitsTips takes a look at how the 2026 World Cup Group C predictions and odds panned out.
Which teams are in Group C of the 2026 World Cup?
Brazil
Brazil arrived at this summer's World Cup seeking to end a 24-year wait for football's biggest prize. By their usual standards, this is not a vintage Brazilian side, at least based on their qualifying campaign. Even so, with Carlo Ancelotti now guiding them, few would dare rule them out.
There is still no shortage of talent in the squad, even if it lacks the overwhelming star power of previous editions. The headline act is Vinicius Junior, who carries the hopes of steering the Selecao back to the summit of world football.
Vinicius rescued Brazil with a stunning equaliser in their opening 1-1 draw against Morocco before the five-time champions responded with a convincing 3-0 victory over Haiti on matchday two to move onto four points.
The Selecao then produced arguably their most complete performance of the tournament by defeating Scotland 3-0 on the final matchday. The victory secured top spot in Group G with seven points, as Ancelotti's side gradually grew into the competition after an uncertain start.
Having won the group, Brazil now head into the Round of 32 full of momentum, where they will face Japan as they continue their quest for a sixth World Cup title.
Morocco
After causing a major stir at the 2022 World Cup by reaching the semi-finals, Morocco are once again viewed as dark horses to go deep, and they immediately reinforced that reputation against Brazil.
Walid Regragui was the mastermind behind the Atlas Lions' remarkable run in Qatar, but following his departure earlier this year, Mohamed Ouahbi has seamlessly continued the team's upward trajectory.
Morocco earned an impressive 1-1 draw against Brazil in their opener before edging Scotland 1-0 on matchday two to put themselves in an excellent position to qualify.
The Atlas Lions removed any lingering doubt on the final matchday by beating Haiti 4-2, but that victory could only secure second place behind Brazil on goal difference and it was enough to progress comfortably to the Round of 32.
Their reward is a mouth-watering knockout clash with Netherlands, as the Atlas Lions bid to build on their historic run from four years ago.
Scotland
Scotland graced the World Cup stage for the first time in 28 years after topping a qualification group containing Denmark and Greece.
Steve Clarke's side made the ideal start by defeating Haiti 1-0, but their hopes of reaching the knockout rounds suffered a blow with a narrow 1-0 defeat to Morocco on matchday two.
That left the Tartan Army needing a positive result against Brazil in their final fixture, but they were beaten 3-0.
The defeat meant Scotland finished third in Group G with three points, falling short of both the automatic qualification places and the ranking required among the best third-placed teams.
Their long-awaited return to the World Cup therefore ended at the group stage, though there were encouraging signs to build upon ahead of future tournaments.
Haiti
Haiti made just their second World Cup appearance, and their first since 1974, after an outstanding qualifying campaign that saw them finish above Honduras and Costa Rica.
The Grenadiers impressed despite a narrow 1-0 defeat to Scotland in their opening match, creating enough chances to earn at least a point.
However, they found life much tougher against the group's heavyweights, losing 3-0 to Brazil before suffering a 4-2 defeat to Morocco on the final matchday.
The result left Haiti bottom of Group G without a point, although their performances, particularly in the opening fixture against Scotland, suggested they were more competitive than the final standings indicate. Their return to the World Cup ends at the group stage, but valuable experience has been gained for the future.
2026 World Cup Group C group winners and qualification predictions
Brazil and Morocco were expected to occupy the top two places in Group C, and their curtain-raiser showed the quality both teams posses.
Brazil were slight favourites to top the section and it happened just that way, as they edged Morocco to the top of the group on goal difference.
Given Scotland’s lack of pedigree at major tournaments, they were expected to fall in the group stage and they did just that, while Haiti pulled off no surprise, and all this meant the odds found in the best World Cup betting apps were accurate.
