Best Wimbledon Predictions Today
Here are our top betting suggestions for day two of Wimbledon, as the Round of 128 gets into full swing.
Zverev vs Carballes Baena – Zverev to Win 3-1 @ 3/1
World No. 4 Alexander Zverev has been performing brilliantly on all surfaces this season, especially on clay. With a win at the ATP 1000 Masters in Rome and a runner-up finish at the French Open, Zverev has been unstoppable.
However, grass courts have always been a bit of a challenge for him. Zverev has a history of struggling to find his footing in Wimbledon. But this year might just be different for the German. He has maintained a 37-11 win-loss record and managed to gain ample grass-court practice in Halle.
Carballes Baena has had a pretty decent season himself, but he's not exactly a grass court specialist either. He has maintained a 16-15 win-loss record this season but had a very short term on grass, with a second-round exit in Mallorca.
Zverev holds a 1-0 edge in their head-to-head and is the clear favourite. But while Zverev works to find his rhythm on grass, don’t be surprised if Carballes Baena snatches a set in the process.
Djokovic vs Kopriva – Djokovic Handicap -8.5 @ 8/13
Novak Djokovic is gearing up to face Vit Kopriva in his first-round match at Wimbledon. The 24-time Grand Slam champion is having a rather tricky season. It's quite a shocker to see Djokovic make it halfway through the season without winning a single title.
Still, Djokovic is the boogeyman of tennis for a reason. No matter the match, he's always the bookmaker's favourite. This first-round clash is no different. Even with limited court time this season, Djokovic has maintained an 18-6 win-loss record. He had a great run at the French Open but had to bow out in the quarter-finals due to an injury.
On the other hand, Vit Kopriva has been struggling to maintain his spot in mainstream tennis. With a rough 1-4 win-loss record, he has almost been eliminated in the qualifiers in all ATP tours and Grand Slams.
Pulling off an upset here would be a monumental task for Kopriva. We’re calling this one for Djokovic, and he’ll likely cruise through even with a handicap.
Swiatek vs Kenin – Swiatek to Win 2-1 @ 4/1
Iga Swiatek is charging into Wimbledon riding a 19-match winning streak. She’s been phenomenal across all surfaces this season. Fresh off her third consecutive French Open title, Swiatek also clinched victories in Madrid and Italy.
Swiatek is currently the most formidable player in the WTA. 2024 marks her fourth time at Wimbledon, following her best performance in 2023 where she made it to the quarter-finals. She has maintained an unbelievable 45-4 win-loss record this year.
However, Swiatek hasn’t played any singles tournaments since the French Open and hasn’t had much time to adjust to grass. Meanwhile, Kenin has had a decent run on grass, making it through the qualifiers and into the second round at the Rothesay International in Eastbourne.
Kenin’s singles record isn’t great at 7-16, but she has been excelling in doubles. She did face Swiatek in the 2020 French Open final, where Swiatek took the title home.
Swiatek edges Kenin 2-0 in their head-to-head and is the favourite to win this matchup. However, Swiatek’s break from the court might have stumped her momentum a bit, giving Kenin the chance to snatch a set.
