Looking to make some bets on the final day of Wimbledon? Then you’re in luck! We’ve broken down today’s men’s final and come up with the best bets to place on day 14 of the tournament this Sunday.
Best Wimbledon Predictions Today
All eyes are on Novak Djokovic vs Carlos Alcaraz today. We’ve done a full analysis of the match here, but before we dive into today’s tennis tips, a quick refresher.
We believe Djokovic will win this match. The Serbian has defeated Alcaraz in their past two meetings since last year’s final, with the most recent of these in convincing fashion.
Djokovic has shown some fire the past fortnight, and it’s that same fire that will see him exact revenge over Alcaraz and break yet another record on Sunday. Game-wise, he’s got the tools to defeat the Spaniard on grass, and will put that into place for a 25th Grand Slam title today.
Based on this, here are three betting markets that we see as great bets for Djokovic vs Alcaraz today:
Djokovic +1.5 Handicap @ 10/11
Given that we expect Djokovic to win this match, backing the Serbian with a +1.5 handicap is not the hardest step to take.
Djokovic’s age and experience means that he very rarely has significant dips in his level. We simply don’t see him losing any 6-1 or 6-2 sets that could influence him making the handicap.
Djokovic Total Games Over 19.5 @ 4/5
We do, however, expect Alcaraz to win at least one set along the way in this final. The Spaniard is a stubborn fighter, and has won at least one set in four or the five times these two have met. He has the power from a neutral position, deft touch and speed around the court to challenge Djokovic.
While we believe Djokovic’s domination of the serve-return dynamic and shorter one to four point rallies will win him the match, it would be naive to believe that at some stage across this clash, Alcaraz won’t run hot and take a set.
With Alcaraz winning a set, this will naturally push Djokovic over the 19.5 game mark, assuming he wins at least two games in the dropped set.
Four Sets Total @ 11/8
This is a slightly more conservative bet that can pay even if Djokovic loses. We believe he’ll win in four, but even if he does fall, should grab a set. With a healthy return of 11/8, this is a good way of hedging your bets and generating a return regardless of which man prevails on Sunday.
