Wednesdays top tips

There's a full card in the SPFL Premiership tonight and the race for third place could finally be decided.

Aberdeen trail Hibs by three points and are 20 goals worse off so they need to take something at home to Celtic to keep their hopes alive.

The good news for the Dons is Brendan Rodgers has promised to give fringe players and kids a run-out tonight in what's a dress rehearsal for the Scottish Cup Final.

But Jimmy Thelin's men will need a vast improvement on their weekend display after crashing to a dismal 4-0 loss away to Rangers.

Aberdeen vs Celtic top betting tips

With Celtic set to field a shadow side tonight, I'm surprised to see Aberdeen as big as 15/4 at BoyleSports for the win. The Dons are also 13/10 in the double chance which looks worth a punt given the circumstances.

The odds are probably like that because the Hoops still have a pretty strong back-up unit, with the likes of Paulo Bernardo, Luke McCowan, James Forrest and Jeffrey Schlupp all superior to any player in Aberdeen's ranks.

So it's probably safer going for goals and combining BTTS with over 2.5 strikes pays evens at BoyleSports.

Johnny Kenny could get his first start up front for the Hoops and the Irishman is a tempting 13/8 for anytime scorer.

St Mirren v Hibernian top betting tips

With Hibs boasting a far superior goal difference to Aberdeen, they can guarantee a third-place finish if they pick up another three points tonight.

But it won't be easy away to an in-form St Mirren side who have European aspirations of their own as they bid to jump above Dundee United into fifth.

The Buddies' only defeat in their last seven at home came against champions Celtic and they've won four of their last six in the Premiership.

It ended in a 0-0 draw when Hibs last came calling so this should be another tight one. The half-time draw looks good at evens with BoyleSports while betting against BTTS is a bit better at 11/10.

Hibs midfielder Nectar Triantis has picked up 10 yellows and a red this term so backing him for a card could pay off at 13/5 with Ladbrokes.

AC Milan vs Bologna

AC Milan take on Bologna tonight in the Coppa Italia Final and it's a tough one to call with the teams well matched.

It's Milan who are in better form, with four wins in their last five, while Bologna have gone three games without a victory heading into the showpiece.

These sides faced off in Serie A just last week in a dress rehearsal and the Rossoneri came out on top with a 3-1 San Siro triumph.

That's why BoyleSports make them 3/4 favourites to lift the trophy while Vincenzo Italiano's men are 20/21 in the same market.

Backing Milan to finish the job inside 90 minutes pays 11/8 and that looks decent value based on recent form.

With a trophy on the line we could see a few tasty tackles so the 6/5 available at Betfred for over 42.5 booking points looks the best option.
