IT'S an action-packed Tuesday night with European qualifiers, 34 matches from the English League Cup, a full card in the National League and the Scottish Challenge Cup which were a haven for goals in the last round.
The English League Cup is a bit of a minefield with few if any clubs taking it seriously. Newport County's manager went as far to say to the fans not to bother traveling to Gillingham, “save your money” – that kind of sums up the competition.
One thing is for sure we'll likely see plenty of goals and definitely worth doing some big-priced accumulators (first half goals, goal in both halves, over 2.5 goals, etc).
I'll be sticking to matches that matter with tonight's NAP coming from the UCL qualifiers as Celtic host Cluj to the east end of Glasgow.
Celtic vs CFR Cluj (7.45pm)
There were plenty of grumps and moans from a section of the Celtic support when Neil Lennon was appointed full-time manager back in May but they have been silenced with Celtic flying out the blocks this season.
They are in sensational form domestically having recorded 7-0 and 5-2 wins and in Europe have also hit the ground running and should continue their progress towards the group stage by seeing of their Romanian opponents.
Cluj are no mugs and perform well at home but it's a different story on the road and in front of a big crowd at Celtic Park it's hard not to fancy Christie, Edouard, Forrest and Co to step up a gear and score another few goals tonight.
It would be a massive shock if Celtic didn't progress and with a 1-1 draw in the first leg they already have an advantage. Celtic should be too strong. Backing the win and over 1.5 goals market and it's a market that has become a real favourite of mine.
Recommended Bet
- Celtic & over 1.5 match goals
- 1/1 (Betway) (NAP)
Scottish Challenge Cup
Fourteen matches from the Challenge Cup and we can expect another night of goals. Wouldn't touch the WDW market with too many unknowns especially given there are 7 Colts teams in action.
One interesting match is Kelty Hearts away at Annan – Kelty are 2-1 and will be interesting to see how the LowlandL eague outfit fair against a senior club having hammered Kilmarnock U-21s in the last round.
Over 2.5 goals treble
- Brora vs Cove Rangers
- Stranraer vs Rangers U21s
- Falkirk vs Celtic U21s
- (2-1, William Hill)
National League – Sky Bet Specials
The matches come quick and fast in the National league and we have another full midweek card as the teams play their 4th round of matches.
Been 30, 27 and 31 goals scored in each of the previous rounds of games and I'm taking 31 goals to be scored – there are 12 matches so certainly an achievable target based on tonight's games.
- 31 goals to be scored 1-1
- First half goal in all matches 60-1
- Over 1.5 goals in all matches 33-1
Can’t find any markets on William Hill for over 2.5 goals treble Greg

Nights like tonight it’s hard to choose what to go for and especially with the majority of games being cup ties!
One bet for me at big odds:

Falkirk v Celtic U21’s
Hamilton U21’s v Airdrie
Hearts U21’s v Cowdenbeath
Ross County U21’s v Raith
Stranraer v Rangers U21’s
