The ATP Tour is drawing to a close in 2024, but not before some brilliant action at the ATP Finals this week. Today, we have two high stakes encounters in the Ilie Nastase Group, as our first semi-finalist will be found. Plus, one player will have their tournament ended early. Read on to find out how we predict Tuesday’s action will unfold, as well as a look at our recommended tennis time today.

In our first prediction, Daniil Medvedev takes on Alex de Minaur with the loser packing their bags in Turin. The other sees Jannik Sinner squaring off against Taylor Fritz with the winner booking their spot in the semi-final.
Medvedev to defeat de Minaur @ 5/6
You might be why these odds are as high as they are, and you’d be right to be at least a little surprised by it. Medvedev and De Minaur are not players that most people would put in the same tier, yet their odds of winning this match are very similar.
This mostly comes down to Medvedev playing pretty poor tennis overall the last few months. He’s 0-5 this year indoors, which in itself tells you all you need to know.
The last time Medvedev won a match was a month ago in Shanghai and since then he’s been quite average. De Minaur isn’t the greatest indoor player either, but he’s made finals on this surface, even this year. He made the Rotterdam final earlier this year and if anything he has won matches on this surface lately. That matters because confidence is very much a thing in tennis.
In saying all of this, we’re backing Medvedev to win.
He’s simply the better player, and will be playing pressure-free tennis here with no expectation of him winning. While De Minaur has beaten him in the past, we aren’t sold that he’ll do so again.
Sinner vs Fritz – over 19.5 games @ 3/6
Sinner is the overwhelming favourite in his match and for very good reason. He’s the far better player and has been sensationally good in recent weeks. He’s also playing at home at an event where he made the final last year, so generally everything is pointing to him winning.
Backing him to win makes no sense though because the odds are so low. Backing the over market makes a lot of sense though. Their US Open match showed that Fritz can hang with Sinner when playing well.
Indoors should technically give him a better chance to do so because his serve can do more damage. He was amazing in the first round and generally looked pretty good in Turin the last time he played there.
Things simply click for him and while that might not be enough to actually win the match, the American should be able to keep this contest somewhat close. The 19.5-game threshold seems low enough for him to cover with a solid display, which is why we’re backing it today.
