Tuesday’s football tips: Nottingham Forest will try to frustrate Liverpool again

Nottingham Forest's incredible run in the Premier League faces an acid test tonight as leaders Liverpool come calling. 

Nuno Espirito Santo's side couldn't be in better form heading into this clash, with their FA Cup win over Luton making it seven successive victories.

In contrast, Liverpool's performances have dipped a little in recent weeks, with Arne Slot's side losing to Spurs in the EFL Cup before drawing at home to Manchester United in the league.

The Anfield giants got back to winning ways against Accrington in the FA Cup on Saturday but will face a much stiffer challenge against the only side to have beaten them in the Premier League this season.

Nottingham Forest vs Liverpool top betting tips

When Nottingham Forest claimed that shock 1-0 win at Anfield earlier in the season, they sat back and frustrated Liverpool before hitting them on the break.

Santo will no doubt use a similar strategy tonight so this could be a cagey game if the leaders fail to make an early breakthrough. The half-time draw looks a decent option at 11/8 with BoyleSports who price under 2.5 goals at 5/4.

Slot's side should have most of the pressure and possession so the corner markets are also worth a look. You need to go to over 7.5 Liverpool corners to get to 13/8 at BoyleSports but backing the Reds at -1 in the first-half corner handicap is better at 23/20.

Brentford vs Manchester City top betting tips

The FA Cup brought contrasting fortunes for Manchester City and Brentford at the weekend, with the Bees crashing out to Plymouth while Pep Guardiola's side smashed eight goals past Salford.

That made it three victories in a row for City after a horror slump that saw them win just once in 13 games. It's probably too early to say Guardiola's side are back but confidence certainly seems to be returning.

Brentford's belief is taking a battering though and they've now lost three in a row at home, having been so impressive at the G-Tech earlier in the season.

BoyleSports make Manchester City 6/10 favourites to pile on the pain and you can boost those odds to 21/20 by adding on over 2.5 goals.

The Bees scored against Arsenal in their last home league game and could get some joy against a City defence that continues to look vulnerable. So combining BTTS with no draw could also pay off at 20/21.

Erling Haaland will be fresh after getting the weekend off and he's just 4/6 at Bet365 for a goal. But if you add that to a City win it takes you to 23/20 in a bet builder.

Dundee vs Celtic top betting tips

There's one game in the SPFL Premiership tonight and Celtic have the chance to go 18 points clear at the top with a win over Dundee.

The Dark Blues helped the Hoops stretch their lead when they held Rangers to a 1-1 draw in their last outing at Dens Park.

Brendan Rodgers' side haven't been at their best away from home of late and needed three goals in the last 10 minutes at Ross County on Saturday to avoid going four without a win on the road.

But BoyleSports still make them 2/11 hot favourites as Celtic look to take another stride towards the title. Dundee have injury issues in defence but are always a threat up front so going for goals at both ends could pay off.
