Tuesdays top tips 2

Liverpool suffered their first defeat of the season on Saturday and they now face a daunting trip to Turkey to face Galatasaray in the UEFA Champions League.

A series of late winners had fired the Reds to seven successive victories but they were undone by a stopagge-time goal from Eddie Nketiah as Crystal Palace beat them 2-1.

Boss Arne Slot will be looking for a response in Europe yet they will have brave one of the most intimidating arenas in Europe when they take on Galatasaray in Istanbul.

Galatasaray vs Liverpool top betting tips

Liverpool have defended poorly in most of their games this season and there was a sense that the defeat at Selhurst Park had been on the cards for a while.

Galatasaray will fancy their chances with home advantage tonight but BoyleSports make them 15/4 outsiders, with the Reds 4/6 favourites.

The Turks look a little overpriced after winning seven of their eight games so far this season but their sole defeat did come in the Champions League as Eintracht Frankfurt dished out a 5-1 beating.

Going for goals at both ends should pay off tonight but combining BTTS and over 2.5 strikes doesn't offer much value at just 4/5. Over 1.5 first-half goals is better at 23/20 with BoyleSports.

Leroy Sane was Galatasaray's big-name summer signing and the German winger looks decent value at evens for an effort on target at Bet365. He's also 7/5 to score or assist.

Chelsea vs Benfica

Jose Mourinho returns to Stamford Bridge tonight and the Benfica boss will be looking to pile on the pain for his old club Chelsea in the Champions League.

The Blues went into the new season on a high after winning the Club World Cup but a poor star has put some pressure on Enzo Maresca.

Saturday's 3-1 home to loss Brighton made it just three wins in eight games and they need a win tonight after losing their Champions League opener in Munich.

Mourinho is back in Portuguese football after Benfica binned Bruno Lage in the wake of their shock loss to Qarabag at the Stadium of Light.

He will be out to work his old magic but BoyleSports make Chelsea 8/13 favourites tonight, with Benfica as big as 9/2.

The Portuguese side have the players to hurt a ropey defence and combining BTTS with over 2.5 goals pays evens at BoyleSports.

This one could be spicy and I fancy Richard Rios for a card at 6/4 with Bet365 after racking up four yellows already this season for Benfica.

Bodo/Glimt vs Tottenham

Spurs are on the road at Bodo/Glimt tonight and heading to Norway will bring back happy memories of last season's Europa League semi-finals.

Tottenham beat the Norwegians 5-1 on aggregate en route to lifting the trophy and that secured them a place in the Champions League.

Thomas Frank's side edged a nervy 1-0 win at home to Villarreal in their opener and look decent value at 23/20 to keep up their perfect European record this season.

Bodo/Glimt could cause them some problems though after coming from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 away to Slavia Prague in their first Champions League game.

They had 10 shots on target that night so it could pay to back Guglielmo Vicario to make over 3.5 saves tonight at 6/4 with Bet365.

Super singles

  • Leroy Sane to score or assist 7/5 Bet365
  • Richard Rios to be carded 6/4 Bet365
  • Tottenham to win 23/20 BoyleSports

Kairat Almaty 12/1 for a red card tonight v Real Madrid. (Hills price) Could be a bit of value I reckon.

Kairat are no strangers to a red card and this is the kind of tie where it could happen. 12/1 is the standout price at Hills with only 9/1 available elsewhere. Tonight’s ref is an Italian who’s shown reds before in European ties.

Hills are also best priced 22/1 on a Madrid red, which seems a lot less likely but it would be rude to have a little on that as well.
