We're on FA Cup duty this evening with five First Round Replays featuring teams from the third tier to the sixth tier.

The lowest ranked teams in action are Weymouth and Curzon Ashton who make the trips to AFC Wimbledon and Cambridge United respectively. Neither are given much of a chance by the bookies with Wymouth priced at 13/2 for the win and Curzon Ashton slightly shorter at 5s.

The Dons look to have found a bit of form and could be the best bet of the two higher-ranked sides at 1/3.

But the biggest outsiders of the night are Torquay United who are 25/1 shots at League One side Derby County after the Gulls forced a replay with a 95th minutes equaliser when the sides met last weekend. The trip to Plainmoor was a far cry from Derby's visit to Anfield last midweek where they narrowly missed out on claiming a major scalp, eventually losing 3-2 on penalties to Liverpool.

The Rams have been faring reasonbly well in League One and find themselves in the play-off places as they look for a speedy return to the Championship. A trip to Newport awaits the winners and if Torquay's league form is anything to go by it should be a more comfortable night at home for Derby than their away trip.

A -18 goal difference and sitting second bottom of the table would suggest that Torquay might find the going tough tonight but you can't be backing Derby at 1/12 so add them to be winning at half-time and full-time to AFC Wimbledone for an even money FA Cup double.

Slim pickings today but I’m happy to see the 2nd legs of the Singapore Cup being played which should hopefully mean G…O…A…L…S!

Slightly unsure how the Balestier Khalsa vs Tampine Rovers match is going to go with Tampine holding a 8-1 advantage from the 1st leg but maybe just maybe Balestier can stage an almighty comeback…or Tampine go on to post a double figures aggregate victory, I’ll be happy either way!

    Singapore Cup 11.45 KO’s

    Balestier Khalsa vs Tampine Rovers
    Hougang United vs Albirex Niigata

Is anybody else feeling a distinct lack of enthusiasm about the World Cup? Normally I would be buzzing for it. The season would be over and we would all have withdrawal symptoms for lack of football. Staging it in Quatar is the most I’ll thought out idea FIFA ever had. The rest of the season is going to be a lottery based on who gets less injuries. Still at least all the Scots among you can have a good laugh at Englands defence (or lack of).

Worst decision ever made in the history of football.Players are going to be absolutely knackered when they arrive back, they then head straight in to a hectic Christmas period which is going to be relentless.

I can never get on board with the argument about players been tired , squads are bigger than they’ve ever been , how hard can it be playing 90 mins of football once every 3 days ish , probably very little training in between aswel , mostly just recovery ,

Totally agree. The World Cup is no longer about sport – it’s about corruption, hypocrisy, looking the other way & lining certain celebrities’ pockets.

It wasn’t so long ago we had to endure that “taking the knee” farce (despite the majority of elite sportspeople being non-white). Now, the SAME players & manager will be playing in a Country where gay people are routinely executed & 6,500 immigrant slaves died building the stadiums and infrastructure due to poor working conditions .

Oh, and expect the Green community to remain strangely silent about how Qatari oil & gas has damaged the planet (because the Qataris will either pay you off or lock you up)

Finally, alcohol is effectively illegal in Qatar. Yet our Qatari friends have made a special exception & applied a “sin tax” – so you can enjoy a beer but it will cost you a staggering £13 a pint! (only the filthy rich can afford to enjoy the working man’s game)

The truth is, everyone knows the whole thing stiinks – which is why most of us really aren’t that bothered 😉

It takes the body roughly 3 to 4 days to recover from a 90 minute football match,to play every 3 days gives a player more chance of an Injury.Nowadays though pro footballers are analyzed and this tells the fitness coaches everything about the player risk of injury energy levels.Playing every 3 days players are not 100% for the next match and each match lowers there percentages. Its ok to have a big squad but if a team suffers with injuries then the players that come in suffer the same fate, its a vicious circle. To go from competing in the Prem then competing in a world cup a week later is madness.

And the reason for more and more and more games is greed , player wages have spiralled out of control , that’s the reason for the european super league , clubs are needing to find more ways of making money , and we’re do you think that money will go 1 place to the players , all you hear are players and managers moaning about playing more games yet the only reason for that is to pay them the insane amount of money they all get!!!! Yet if you ask any of them if we reduce the amount of games will you reduce the amount if money you get none of them would accept it , money’s totally ruining the game ,

It was Man Utd who started the whole money thing off, paying players 500,000 per week, they set the bar and are now suffering the consequences they have no wage structure,as such it cost them more than money.

    • Avatar of Deano86
      Deano86 2 years ago

Real Madrid and Barcelona started it off paying crazy transfer fees and wages , like you say United have done so aswel , your club have also just paid a 30 year old salah 400,000 a week , paid 75 mil for a defender , 70 mil for a goalkeeper , and a club record for a 22 year old nunez , all clubs do it mate , it’s ridiculous.

You really should look at Liverpool’s Net spend over the last 5 years and compare it to Man Utd’s.
      Liverpool Net spend £216 million
Man Utd Net spend £545 million in fact they are the biggest spenders out the whole lot, over 1 billion in the last ten years.Although i got a feeling big money will be spent in January and the summer.

    • Avatar of mark edley
      maccathered 2 years ago

It’s that kind of spending that inflates prices. When Man Utd buy a player now they have to pay silly money.look at what Antony cost 86 million that price is ridiculous considering Liverpool only paid 37 million for Diaz.Having said that the extra you paid for Antony might be down to the fact he can do tricks with the ball.

All delusional, was season ticket holder at lowly Middlesbrough for 20+ years, North Stand, high up, watched a certain player on 30 grand a week put a penalty over our heads high up, over the stand and into the river Tees behind……. And then laughed. That was me done, players now in it for the money and none of them relate or interact with any fan whatsoever, unless its charity to make them look good!

So rude! Looks like someone lost their pint money tonight. This page was not intended as a solution for your tab behind the bar or as a get rich quick scheme. Understand betting first before jumping into it. Your apology is so not needed but your disappearance is very much needed. There was no invite extended to you to join and you can surely uninvite/unjoin your self off to a better tipping page of your choosing. That’s if you can get anywhere BETTER than here. Have a pint on your way to clicking “close account.”
