Partick Thistle have suffered play-off heartache in the last four seasons but will be hoping a first-leg win over St Mirren tonight will set the stage for their SPFL Premiership return.

Having seen off Dunfermline in the semi-finals, the Jags now take on a Buddies side who ended their league campaign in poor form.

St Mirren were basking in the glory of a League Cup Final win over Celtic back in December but now find themselves fighting for top-flight survival.

Partick Thistle vs St Mirren top betting tips

Three successive defeats after the SPFL Premiership split condemned St Mirren to the play-offs but they managed to claim four points from their final two games to boost morale a little.

There's no question the Buddies have a stronger squad and they're just 4/9 with Bet365 to come out on top over the two legs.

But Firhill will be bouncing tonight and Celtic are the only team to have beaten the Jags at home all season. That makes me think they might be worth a punt for a first-leg win at 17/10 with BetMGM, while backing the Championship side to score first pays 21/20 at Betfred.

This clash could be fiery and St Mirren stalwart Alex Gogic is a decent 23/10 at Ladbrokes to go into the book. The Cypriot has amassed 14 yellows and one red so far this season.

Wolfsburg vs Paderborn

There's also a promotion/relegation play-off in the Bundesliga tonight as Wolfsburg bid to bare their teeth against Paderborn.

Wolfsburg have been in the top tier since 1997 but a disappointing campaign has left them looking vulnerable this season.

Paderborn are out to end their six-year absence from the Bundesliga and only missed out on automatic promotion due to goal difference.

But their form was poor at the end of the season, with just one win in their last five, so Wolfsburg look worthy 3/4 favourites for tonight's first leg with home advantage.

Combining the home win with over 1.5 goals pays evens at Bet365 and that seems worth a punt.

Brondby vs FC Copenhagen

Denmark has a play-off final tonight too but it's a place in Europe that's up for grabs as Brondby take on FC Copenhagen.

This is a one-off shootout and Brondby have home advantage as they finished fourth in the top six after the league split.

Defending champions Copenhagen surprisingly found themselves in the bottom half of the table but ended up topping that section to give themselves a crack at Europe.

Playing against the weaker sides has given them a confidence boost, with Copenhagen winning seven of their last eight games and drawing the other.

Brondby, in contrast, have just one victory from their last four matches so I'm going to bet on the away win tonight at 13/10 with 10Bet.

Viktor Claesson has scored in his last two games for FC Copenhagen and looks overpriced at 31/10 with StarSports for another goal tonight.
