First goalscorer predictions

The SPFL Premiership play-off final gets underway tonight and Ross County will be hoping it's not third time unlucky against Livingston.

These Staggies are in this shootout for the third  year in a row and previously saw off Partick Thistle and Raith Rovers to cling on to a place in the top flight.

These play-offs are unfairly weighted towards the Premiership side as they have to play at least two games fewer than the side they face in the final.

But Livingston beat Partick 4-0 on aggregate in the last round and there's a feelgood factor around the club after a takeover was completed.

Livingston v Ross County top betting tips

There's only so many times you can push your luck when battling relegation and this could be the year when County finally take the drop.

Winning tonight's first leg at home will be key to Livingston's hopes of being promoted and the Lions look decent value at 21/20 with BoyleSports.

Livingston knocked County out of the Scottish Cup this season with a thrilling 3-2 win in Dingwall. Ten yellow cards were flashed that day so it could pay to back a busy night for the officials.

Jamie Brandon was carded that day and it's one of 12 bookings he has picked up this season. So it could be worth backing the Livingston stopper to go in the book again at 9/4 with McBookie.

AZ Alkmaar vs Heerenveen

There's play-off action in the Netherlands tonight as well but the prize is a place in Europe instead of staying in the top flight.

AZ Alkmaar have home advantage for their semi-final with Heerenveen after finishing 14 points ahead of them in the regular season.

Maarten Martens' men also ended the campaign on a five-game unbeaten run while Heereveen lost two of their final two fixtures to sneak into the play-offs.

Robin Veldman's side were also thrashed 9-1 on their last trip to Alkmaar so it's no surprise to see them as 9/2 outsiders tonight.

AZ are just 4/9 for the win but backing them to be winning at half-time and full-time boosts the odds to 6/5.

Winger Ernest Poku caught me eye in AZ's European campaign and the young Belgian is 11/4 at Bet365 for an assist tonight.

FC Twente vs NEC Nijmegen

There other Dutch play-off semi-final is between FC Twente and NEC Nijmegen and the bookies reckon this clash is also a bit one-sided.

This time the gap between the sides in the table was 11 points and BoyleSports make Twente their 4/7 favourites with home advantage.

Twente also won both meetings during the regular season, including a 2-0 triumph at home, but NEC head into the play-off in excellent form.

They've won their last three games, including a 3-0 triumph away to title-chasing Ajax, so this might not be as cut and dried as the bookies think.

NEC could be worth a punt at 5/4 in the double chance with BoyleSports while combining BTTS and over 2.5 goals pays evens.

We saw 12 corners when these teams last faced off so over 10.5 flag kicks also stands a chance at evens.

Thursday's Super Singles

  • Livingston's Jamie Brandon to be carded 9/4 McBookie
  • AZ Alkmaar HT-FT 6/5 BoyleSports
  • NEC Nijmegen double chance 5/4 BoyleSports
