MAYBE you can afford to paint the town red after I picked three winners for the Johnstone's Paint Trophy. These games are notoriously unpredictable and my tactics of giving most of the favourites a wide berth paid off.
My headline selection Swindon won 3-0 at Southampton at best odds of 9-2. They formed a winning treble with 11-4 Shrewsbury at Oldham and 13-10 Port Vale at home to Rochdale that paid around 33-1.
Northampton, the fourth team on the accer, were well beaten but the treble still provided a decent profit for backers.
And my Super Single success continued with Swindon draw no bet at 3-1.
That's four Super Singles on the bounce starting with Atletico Madrid draw no bet
9-2) last Friday, Cardiff (7-4) on Saturday and Bolton v Birmingham draw (12-5)
on Sunday.
There are two more Johnstone's Paint ties tonight and while I'd normally give them a wide berth I'm considering two singles on the outsiders.
Orient are a biggest 4-1 at totesport while Notts County are 4-1 with the same firm at Sheffield Wednesday.
It's a nice 24-1 double and not out of the question with the home sides putting more emphasis on league results. But the best advice is to check the strength of line-ups before having a bet.
