Tennis Prediction and Betting Tips 2024

Today’s best tennis betting tips will once again feature two matches from the ongoing Shanghai Masters. Due to yesterday’s schedule not being fully played, we have a couple of really interesting predictions this Sunday. We’ll break down below the reason why these specific tips are the ones we recommend adding to your betting roster today.

Best tennis tips and predictions today

In our first tip, we’re going to back a huge upset, which isn’t as big as the odds make it out to be. It’s too juicy to pass up. In the other one, we’re going to back Holger Rune beating Matteo Berrettini, just like he did a couple of weeks ago in Cincinnati.

Muller to defeat Tsitsipas @ 3/1

Tennis betting sites have this match very skewed, but we don’t really understand why. Stefanos Tsitsipas did win his first match here in Shanghai against Kei Nishikori, who is a good player, but the Japanese player had a brutal first round.

He came to Shanghai after a long week in Tokyo, and at his age, that’s a bit too much tennis for him. More importantly, Tsitsipas hasn’t looked particularly sharp for a very long time.

Muller looked really sharp in the first round, where he smashed Felix Auger-Aliassime in two sets. We’re mostly backing him to keep that momentum going here because Tsitsipas is a very beatable player at the moment.

Muller plays an aggressive and attacking style, which is exactly what bothers Tsitsipas the most. The courts playing slower this year do help Tsitsipas a little bit, but generally, it helps Muller as well.

Overall, we just like the odds and the moment because it’s the right time to fade Tsitsipas as his win over Nishikori has caveats to it. It’s not as impressive as it might sound at first glance.

Rune to defeat Berrettini  @ 5/6

We are basing this one mostly on the matchup because it does seem like a matchup that favours Holger Rune to an extent. They played recently in Cincinnati, and the Danish player was able to win that match.

Berrettini tends to struggle with Rune mostly because he’s so skilled at countering rallies. He can return well, which negates the serve. He can hit from both sides, which can overwhelm Berrettini’s baseline play.

It’s very heavily reliant on the forehand, and when you have a somewhat slower court like this one and balls that get big after a few games, you get a matchup where you can’t really hit as much.

Then you have to outlast Rune in a rally, and good luck with that because he grew up on clay, and long rallies are all that he really needs.

It also seems like Rune’s form is picking up, while Berrettini has yet to really find what he had during the summer months.
