We found some really good value for you on day one of the ATP Finals, so read on for our full predictions.

Best tennis tips and predictions today

In our first prediction this Sunday, we’re expecting underdog Taylor Fritz to surprise against Medvedev. In our other, we’re backing Sinner to defeat Alex de Minaur comfortably.

Fritz to defeat Medvedev @ 6/5

Besides the odds, which are excellent, we recommend this pick because Fritz has looked better than Medvedev in recent weeks. He also bested the Russian the last time they played even though that match happened a while ago.

Fritz is a very tricky player to take on indoors. He has a massive serve that does a lot of damage in conditions like the ones in Turin. The event has generally played more on the faster side, which is exactly what he enjoys most.

Medvedev plays fast courts well, but his form has been all over the place recently. It just doesn’t make much sense to back him here, especially not with Fritz likely being quite motivated.

The odds being as high as they are on Fritz just make this one more enticing to play. Overall, when we looked at the matchup and how they played recently, backing the American simply makes more sense.

Medvedev’s propensity to play too casually at times is also a reason why we’re backing Fritz as he’ll take it more seriously for sure.

Sinner to defeat De Minaur 2-0 @ 3/6

Sinner beating De Minaur is not something many doubt because the Italian has been simply the much better player recently. He’s also a much better player in general so that’s what makes him the overall consensus pick.

When it comes to our pick here, it’s simply a derivative of that – we’re backing him to beat de Minaur in straight sets. There is a reason for that; the matchup is simply on his side.

Sinner and De Minaur have played seven times so far and the Italian has won all seven times. Only three of those featured De Minaur winning a set, the last time of which was in 2022.

Since then, we’ve had four matches between them, and all four finished in straight sets for Sinner. The only match this year they played was again a straight sets victory for Sinner. It happened in Rotterdam and was 7-5, 6-4 for the Italian.

The one indoor match last year which happened at the Davis Cup was won by Sinner 6-3, 6-0, so he’s simply dominated this matchup and that’s why we’re backing that score once more.
