Real Madrid were favourites for the Club World Cup before a ball was kicked and can plant one foot in the last 16 with a win over Pachuca tonight.
Xabi Alonso's first game in charge didn't go to plan as a late penalty miss from Federico Valverde meant they had to settle for a point against Saudi side Al Hilal.
Star striker Kylian Mbappe missed that game with gastroenteritis and is set to be sidelined again tonight but the Bernabeu giants should still have too much firepower for the Mexicans.

Real Madrid vs Pachuca top betting tips
Pachuca had a poor domestic season and lost their Club World Cup opener to Red Bull Salzburg so it's no surprise to see them as BoyleSports' 8/1 outsiders.
Real Madrid are just 1/4 but if you back them to win both halves it pays a boosted 7/4 with BoyleSports, which could be worth a punt.
With Mbappe likely to be missing again, Alonso will need his other star forwards to step up. Vinicius Junior is 11/10 for anytime scorer and that looks decent value with the Brazilian on 23 goals for the season.
He hasn't been at his best of late but Vinicius Junior still has the talent to run riot against limited opposition.
Red Bull Salzburg vs Al Hilal
Saudi side Al Hilal are desperate for success at the Club World Cup after a heavy investment in their playing squad and a win tonight over Red Bull Salzburg would leave them in good shape to reach the last 16.
New boss Simone Inzaghi got his reign off to a good start as Al Hilal claimed a 1-1 draw against Real Madrid in their Group H opener.
Now the former Inter Milan gaffer will out to follow it up with a victory but it won't be easy against a Red Bull Salzburg side who currently top the section.
The Austrians beat Pachuca 2-1 in their opener and have players who can hurt Al Hilal's defence so this could be a close one and the half-time draw appeals at 5/4 with BoyleSports.
This one could be quite fiery and a double on defenders Stefan Lainer and Kalidou Koulibaly each committing over 0.5 fouls pays 143/100 at Paddy Power.
Juventus v Wydad Casabalanca
Juventus got their Club World Cup campaign off to a flying start by thrashing Al Ain 5-0 and should book a place in the last 16 if they follow it up with another win over Wydad Casabalanca.
The Moroccans lost 2-0 to Manchester City in their Group G opener and didn't offer much of a threat so it's easy to see why Juve are 2/7 hot favourites.
Wydad did make it quite hard for City to break through so I'd be surprised if the Italians ran riot again. That makes a Juventus win with under 3.5 goals worth a look at 20/23 with BoyleSports.
Winger Francisco Conceicao scored a double in that win over Al-Ain and also caught the eye for Portugal in their Nations League triumph. His confidence looks to be up and he's 15/8 at BoyleSports for another strike.
Sunday's Super Singles
- Vinicius Junior anytime scorer 11/10 BoyleSports
- HT draw in Red Bull Salzburg v Al Hilal 5/4 BoyleSports
- Francisco Conceicao anytime scorer 15/8 BoyleSports
Deadly double
- Stefan Lainer and Kalidou Koulibaly over 0.5 fouls 143/100 Paddy Power

This is a random search in 2019 for total posts in days gone by.
259 on this day.
Did several searches ranging from 2014 to 2020 and most Saturdays had between 80-160 posts.
Nowadays it’s under 50.
Great seeing old names but sad in a way as they have vanished..
Still missing the hull shaker/craneguy comedy store.
It’s that sort of banter this thread lacks now.
A few names, some going back to 2015.

These just random names I remember, bum sure there plenty more folk will remember from the good old days ⚽
I’m sure most days now have under 25 posts, Elvis.
I fondly remember Kelly D – she used to post those first half goals accas and whack £50 on – and regularly turn it into £1,000 (before getting gubbed by Bet 365!)
It would be interesting to find out how many of those “names” still vistit regularly, but “can’t be bothered to post” ?
Those really were the good old days. I can still remember, way back in the early years after the website first went live, posting daily in what I think was just called the “Other Sports” thread. I shared European basketball tips, and there was another guy – ‘HuggyBear’ or something like that – who posted NBA picks. The community was pretty active back then, a lot bigger than it is now.
Poor now, logging in/out and constantly having to verify you are a human. All the free tipsters claimed they would never charge for tips….. all now charging for tips and don’t bother coming here anymore.
Greg browning being one of the main culprits with his subscription service
Still here mate :) Nice one from last night aswell :)

Re Bluenosetoffee.
Spot on, won’t say too much but you are correct, those types are parasites, posting here portraying to be one of us, then jumping ship once they get a whiff of making money from offering opinions like the rest of us, current bet of the day bloke an example of this.
This is how the Roman empire crumpled, consumed with greed it self imploded, much the same as this site unfortunately.
All we have remaining is a smouldering wreck of what was in my opinion the finest site of its kind on the web
I understand the research etc but totally agree about charging for tips as most on here get just as many winners as the bet of the day bloke gets,I look at tips and then look at information etc but then don’t expect the guy who tipped it then ask for a percentage of the win🤣,don’t see the bet of the day bloke refunding over losing tips🤣🤣,may get 8 winners in a row followed by 8 loses in a row but let’s brush those under the carpet
Ye Kelly D and The Chief were great tipsters especially The chief great insight into his picks
I’ll be honest it wouldn’t surprise me if you were next on the hit list for an offer. By far the most consistent tipper on here and the racing thread. Not sure what happened to all the old guard, maybe they’re still trying to login 🤣🤣🤣
Klaksvik 🇫🇴 (3.00pm)
Viking 🇳🇴 (6.15pm)
Over 2.5 goals double 1.35/1 , 👍
Did anyone ever find out what happened with Hullshaker?
Did he just stop posting or was it something else🤔
Not sure just remember him taking the admin side of things with the posts, alot had to be removed because of doughnuts like the Irish fellow who constantly posted non related tips but nasty comments, can’t remember his name but he was a weasel who charged for tips but copied off other websites as if his own tips, ugly looking fellow if my memory serves me well

Nico Gonzalez to be carded 8/1 365
He’s 7/2 with PP & 3/1 with WH to be carded, other bookies who are doing super sub. Not sure if he’ll start but jumping on as the price won’t last if Jubentus rotate players. He was an unused sub in the 1st game but picked up 3 booking in Juventus last 6 Serie A games, he was also sent off for Argentina 2 games back after coming for the last 20 mins.

In the time that Mr. Fixit (Paul) was still alive, there was a more relaxed atmosphere on this site, which unfortunately disappeared step by step after his death. A certain commercialization by certain users who suddenly wanted money for their sports tips, but also the site itself that increasingly ran on (gambling) advertising revenue, and therefore became pushy. I think that many users “fled” to other forums that were friendlier and more accessible. More hospitable. Because the atmosphere here also often became grimmer, with more quarrels and unnecessary nagging at each other. But hey, who knows, the tide may still turn. Through a friendlier attitude and appreciation for other people’s attempts to “beat the bookmakers”.
Mr. Fixit would have liked it that way.
In play – Penalty awarded in the Real Madrid game 15/8 Hills 👍
Cienciano del Cuzco v Alianza Atletico
23:30
Peruvian Primera Division
Alianza to score 11-10 bet365. 🇵🇪
On form looks over priced as alianza are higher and have won their last 7 games though their record here is pretty awful to be honest.
Cienciano have conceded in all 7 home league games.
They have conceded 12 in their 7 home league games.
Including conceding at home to the bottom 2 in the league
Alianza recently win 1-0 away to the league leaders, have scored in 5/7 away games and as I said have won their last 7 games
They are 13-2 to win which raises suspicions so not going gung ho on stakes but worth a late night dabble as I wait for the late kick off in the man city v al ain game at 2am.
