Spread betting tips this weekend: Our picks

First match goal: Early goals the order of the day for Portugal?

On Friday night, it's Portugal vs Poland where the hosts need just a point to book their place in the quarter-finals of the Nations League. Poland need a win to retain their hopes of qualifying for the knockout stages so they should come flying out of the blocks, which lends itself an increased possibility of an early goal.

Portugal are a team that have become accustomed to either scoring and conceding an early goal. In three of their four Nations League matches so far, a goal has been scored earlier than the sell price for this match of 29′.

Meanwhile, four goals were scored before the 29th minute in Poland's most recent match which suggests we could be in for more than one striker inside the first half an hour on Friday night.

Total goals: Turkey and Wales to play to form?

Turkey vs Wales has never been the most thrilling of fixtures with none of their four most recent clashes producing more than two goals. The most recent clash, which was played just two months ago in Cardiff, was one of the most uneventful 0-0 draws you could wish to see.

Wales's last outing was a drab affair too, winning just 1-0 against Montenegro while Turkey's last match on home soil was equally as bad, beating the same opponents by the same scoreline. Everything points to a cagey affair on Saturday which makes the 2.50 sell price a no brainer.

Corners squared: Netherlands and Hungary to exchange set pieces

Corners could play a big part when the Netherlands play Hungary on Saturday night.

Across their first two Nations League matches at home this season, the Netherlands have taken a combined 17 corners which averages out at 8.5 per game. Meanwhile, Hungary have taken 18 corners across their last three Nations League matches which works out at an average of six per game.

If both teams play to these averages on Saturday, the corners squared market will settle at 196. Given the buy price is currently 112, this could result in a major payday.

Bradley Barcola goal minutes: PSG man to down Italy?

The big news out of the France camp this week is that Kylian Mbappe has once again been left out of the squad after disagreements with manager, Didier Deschamps. With the Real Madrid man now unlikely to play for them again while Deschamps is in charge, Les Bleus will turn to Mbappe's heir at PSG, Bradley Barcola.

The 22-year-old has stepped up in a big way for PSG so far this season and is currently the top scorer in Ligue 1 with 10 goals in 11 appearances. He started France's match with Israel on Thursday which shows he is now a key man for Deschamps so backing him to score a goal (preferably after the 12 minute) makes a lot of sense.

Winning margin: The Carsley era to end in style

The buy price on the winning margin for England vs Ireland on Sunday is set at exactly 2 which represents fantastic value when you consider it was only two months ago that the Three Lions went to Dublin and defeated the Republic of Ireland 2-0 in their own backyard.

What's more, England have followed that win up with three more wins by two or more goals in the four subsequent matches under Lee Carsley, including Thursday's 3-0 win over Greece. This is far from a vintage Ireland side and England should run all over them.
