The fourth and final Scottish League Cup quarter-final tie of the weekend will take place at Firhill on Sunday afternoon, as Partick Thistle play host to Celtic.
Thistle came through the group stage of the competition with four wins from four and they have since disposed of fellow Scottish Championship side Ayr United in the round of 16.
As for Celtic, they eased their way into the tournament with a comfortable 4-1 win over Falkirk last month, in a game that brought up my recommended Bet Builder.
Unsurprisingly, Celtic are heavy odds-on favourites on Sunday, however I’ve identified an alternative angle of attack that holds plenty of appeal.
Partick Thistle are 5/6 on PaddyPower to pick up two or more cards during this cup tie, and that looks well worthy of support.
Despite Thistle's strong start to the season, they have been collecting cards on a fairly consistent basis.
In fact, Mark Wilson’s men have averaged 2.40 cards per game across their opening five Scottish Championship matches of the season.
Dig a little deeper, and it can be seen that the Jags have been shown multiple cards in each of their five second tier outings this term, including home games with both Morton and Raith Rovers.
On top of all that, the Maryhill outfit clocked up a couple of cards when hosting Scottish League One outfit Queen of the South during the group stage of the competition.
Now facing opposition of the highest calibre, Partick appear to be overpriced to have two or more names taken this weekend.
Celtic have already drawn two or more bookings on the road against Aberdeen, Rangers and Kilmarnock in this season’s Scottish Premiership.
It’s also worth noting that Falkirk were shown exactly two cards when pitting their wits against the Hoops in the previous round, further strengthening the case for a minimum of two bookings for Thistle during Sunday’s all-Glasgow affair.
