MFT SlipsTips Safe 01

SlipsTips has cast his eye over the Bet Builder markets and identified a bookings-based double ahead of this weekend's Scottish Premiership action.

Ross County vs Dundee United (Saturday, 15:00)

Both Ross County and Dundee United will be bidding to bank their first three points of the Scottish Premiership season when the pair go up against each other at the Global Energy Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

After staving off relegation via the play-offs last season, County kicked off their league campaign with a 0-0 draw away at Motherwell.

As for newly-promoted Dundee United, they marked their return to the top-flight with a frantic 2-2 draw against fierce rivals Dundee.

This is a mighty tough encounter to call but I'm going to back both teams to receive a card as the first half of a 4/5 Bet Builder double with Bet 365.

Hosts Ross County were the most ill-disciplined side in the Scottish Premiership last season, averaging 2.37 yellow cards per-game, and they picked up where they left off last weekend when receiving two bookings against Motherwell.

Dundee United also ended up in the referees' notebook twice last Sunday, not to mention Jim Goodwin’s side were averaging a shade under two cautions per 90 minutes en-route the Scottish Championship title last term.

Admittedly, referee Craig Napier isn't the most eye-catching refereeing appointment based on his card per-game average last season (3.33), however a card to be dished out to both sides in Dingwall should be within range in what is expected be a keenly contested encounter.

It’s also worth pointing out that both teams went into the book in eight of the Staggies’ final 10 league games last season.

Dundee vs Hearts (Saturday, 17:30)

Dundee and Heart of Midlothian will both be looking to build on their opening weekend draws in the Scottish Premiership when the duo do battle at Dens Park on Saturday evening.

The Dark Blues twice came from behind against city foes Dundee United to claim a 2-2 draw at Tannadice last Sunday.

Hearts, on the other hand, will consider themselves unlucky to have come away with just a point from their 0-0 draw with Rangers in the capital last Saturday.

With a hard-hitting televised tussle anticipated between the two teams here, I’m going to follow the same theme by backing both teams to pick up a card.

Dundee were among the less well behaved sides in the Scottish Premiership last season, collecting an average of 1.89 yellow cards per-game.

Visitors Hearts weren’t too far behind with their tally of 1.87, so there is plenty of scope for both sides to tackle their way into trouble at least once on Saturday evening.

In fact, this selection would have paid out in three of the four meetings between the pair last season, including each of the two clashes at Dens Park.

With that in mind, I’m more than happy to round off the 4/5 (Bet 365) Bet Builder double by backing referee Don Robertson to flash a card in both sides’ direction during this City of Discovery dust-up.
