Palace hitman Mateta has hit an incredibly rich vein of form of late and will therefore come into this FA Cup clash brimming with confidence.
The French forward fired in his 12th Premier League goal of the season during Tuesday night’s 4-1 trouncing of Aston Villa.
That means the Crystal Palace striker has now plundered in eight goals across his last eight Premier League appearances.
On top of that, the 27-year-old provided an assist during last weekend’s 2-0 success across town at Fulham.
Thus, Mateta holds plenty of appeal to register another goal involvement when Palace play host to second-tier opposition this weekend.
While Millwall caused a mini-upset in the previous round by earning a 2-0 win over Leeds at Elland Road, they can expect a much tougher test when they make the short trip to Selhurst Park.
The Lions’ backline has been breached at least twice in three of their last eight English Championship away days, making the aforementioned Mateta the prime candidate to exploit that defensive vulnerability on Saturday.
