After delivering two winning bets in his featured column on Saturday, SlipsTips is back to take a look at the Bet Builder market ahead of Sunday's solitary Scottish Premiership fixture between Livingston and Celtic.
Livingston vs Celtic (Sunday, 12:00)
Celtic will be looking to restore their three-point lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership table when they lock horns with Livingston at the Tony Macaroni Arena on Sunday lunchtime.
The Hoops were able to make a return to winning ways last time out, defeating St Mirren 2-0, while the Lions started the weekend surveying the standings from the lofty heights of fourth following their 2-1 win over Dundee United in midweek.
Since their promotion back to the top flight in 2018, Livingston have become something of a bogey team for Celtic, winning two, drawing six and losing just four of the teams’ 12 meetings.
Therefore, backing the Bhoys at a general 1/3 looks best avoided in favour of combining over five Celtic corners and over one Livingston card at 4/5 (Bet 365).
Ange Postecoglou's side have proved profitable in the match corner betting in a colossal 27 of their 29 top-flight tussles this term, a sample that includes each of their previous two meetings with Livingston.
Celtic's high-intensity and fast-paced style of play has seen them average an eye-watering 9.52 corners per-game in the Scottish Premiership this season, with the high-octane Hoops covering the 6+ line in all but one of their last 25 outings.
With that in mind, coupled with the likelihood of the league leaders dominating possession for long stages, I'm more than happy to side with over five Celtic flag kicks here, but to boost the odds, I'll also throw over one Livingston booking into the mix.
David Martindale's men are statistically the dirtiest team in the Scottish top-flight this season, averaging 2.55 yellow cards per-game, a tally that increases to 3.00 when playing in front of their own supporters.
What's more, attack-minded Celtic have drawn two or more cards from each of their last 13 opponents in the league, not to mention referee Nick Walsh has been one of the more card-happy operators in Scotland this season, averaging a lofty 4.57 yellows per 90 to date.
It's also worth noting that the aforementioned Bet Builder would have paid out in each of the previous two league meetings between the pair this season and that only adds to the appeal of supporting the same formula in West Lothian on Sunday.
Recommended Bet
- Over 5 Celtic Corners
- Over 1 Livingston Card
- Bet Builder – 4/5 (Bet 365)
