SlipsTips takes a look at the Bet Builder market ahead of Bayern Munich's battle with Benfica in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

Bayern Munich vs Benfica (Wednesday, 20:00)

Bayern Munich will look to get their Champions League campaign back on track by overcoming Benfica at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday night.

Vincent Kompany’s side hit the ground running in spectacular style by dishing out a 9-2 drubbing to Dinamo Zagreb on matchday one.

However, Bayern subsequently fell to a 1-0 defeat at Aston Villa before being ruthlessly cut apart by a Barcelona team led by former boss Hansi Flick.

Meanwhile, Benfica have six points in the bank after beating both Red Star Belgrade and Atletico Madrid, though they did fall to a 3-1 defeat at home to Feyenoord last time out.

Bayern Munich to Win

While there's no need to panic just yet, Bayern Munich will be keen to avoid another slip-up on Wednesday night, and they should prove too strong for Benfica at their Bavarian base. The German giants boast a fantastic home record in this competition over the years, losing just six times inside 90 minutes over the last decade or so. They were particularly efficient in dealing with home games during the now-defunct group stage, winning a whopping 28 of their last 30 pool fixtures in front of their own supporters.

Bayern have also won three of their four Bundesliga games at home this season, with the only blot on their copybook a 1-1 draw with Bayer Leverkusen. It might not be the cakewalk the pre-match odds suggest, but Vincent Kompany’s star-studded side should have enough in the locker to land top honours.

Harry Kane to Score Anytime

For the second leg of the Bet Builder, I’m going with Harry Kane to score anytime. The England skipper’s scintillating form in front of goal for Bayern Munich is showing no signs of slowing down this season. Kane bagged a brace against Union Berlin on Saturday to take his tally in the Bundesliga this season to 11, with six of those strikes arriving across his last three appearances.

He also helped himself to four goals in the aforementioned matchday one mauling of  Dinamo Zagreb, not to mention he made the net bulge away to Barcelona.  It’s also worth noting that Kane has scored in each of Bayern Munich’s four home wins across all competitions this season so far.

Over 0.5 Benfica Cards

I’ll wrap up the Bet Builder with a minimum of one Benfica booking. Bruno Lage’s side have collected a combined total of six yellow cards across their opening three continental contests of the campaign, receiving at least one card in each respective fixture. What’s more, the Eagles have averaged 1.78 yellow cards per-game in the Portuguese Primeira Liga this season to date.

The Lisbon-based outfit should have plenty of defensive work to get through on Wednesday night given the calibre of opposition they will be coming up against. Furthermore, four of the five sides to visit the Allianz Arena this season have been shown at least one card.

Recommended Bet

  • Bayern Munich to Win
  • Harry Kane to Score Anytime
  • Over 0.5 Benfica Cards
  • Bet Builder – 1/1 (Bet 365)
