SlipsTips shares two angles of attack ahead of Huddersfield's Yorkshire derby with Sheffield United in the English Championship on Saturday.
Huddersfield vs vs Sheffield United (Saturday, 12:30)
Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield Town and Sheffield United square off at the John Smith’s Stadium in the English Championship on Saturday lunchtime.
Carlos Corberán’s fifth-placed hosts have proved to be a massive surprise package this season and head into this clash having put together a 13-game unbeaten run in all competitions.
Sheffield United, on the other hand, have hit their stride in recent weeks after a slow start to the season and will be aiming to make it five league wins on the spin in their pursuit of a playoff place.
As such, there isn't a huge amount of appeal in the 1×2 market here but backing each team to hit 3+ corners and each team to receive 10+ booking points looks like a nice alternative at 5/6 with SkyBet.
Huddersfield have been standard-frequency corner takers this term, averaging 4.03 per-game, a figure that increases to 4.47 when playing in front of their own supporters.
Meanwhile, Sheffield United, who appear to have turned a corner in recent months, are earning a healthy 5.61 flagkicks per 90, a tally only topped by four other teams in tier two.
With that in mind, as well as both sides having a string of encouraging results behind them, I'm more than happy to back each team to deliver a minimum of three corners on Saturday afternoon.
To round off the Bet Builder I'm going with each side to receive 10+ booking points in what should be a closely-fought battle between two rivals right in the thick of the race for a much-coveted top six spot.
There's little love lost between these familiar foes, not to mention both teams are averaging north of 1.6 bookings per-game this season so far.
What’s more, referee James Linington has been one of the more card-happy operators in the English Championship this season, averaging lofty 4.94 cards per-game this term.
With all things considered, the 19/20 (Bet 365) about Over 3.5 Asian Cards also looks like an attractive proposition in what should be a closely-fought battle between two tightly matched teams.
Referee Linington has flashed four or more cards in a sizable 13 of his 17 English Champions outings this season and I see no reason that will stop here given that we have more than enough ingredients for a feisty affair in West Yorkshire.
