SlipsTips takes a look at the Bet Builder market ahead of Hearts' clash with Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership on Wednesday night.

Hearts vs Aberdeen (Wednesday, 19:45)

Hearts will be looking to tighten their grip on third place in the Scottish Premiership when they take on Aberdeen at Tynecastle.

Following their promotion back from the second tier last season, the Jambos have enjoyed a seamless transition into life back in the top flight, with Robbie Nielson’s side firmly in the driving seat when it comes to finishing” best of the rest”.

Aberdeen, on the other hand, have performed far below expectations this season, though it must be said that new boss Jim Goodwin has steadied the ship with a pair of back-to-back draws.

Dons backers will be offered a chunky 11/4 (Betfred) on Goodwin collecting his first three points in the capital this midweek but it's the 10/11 (SkyBet) about each team to hit 3+ corners and each team to receive 10+ booking points that has caught my eye yet again.

Hearts have proven prominent in the corner rankings this term, with an average of 5.71 per-game, a tally that increases to 6.07 when operating at their Tynecastle base.

Though they may have struggled for consistency this season, Aberdeen have also been fairly reliable corner performers themselves, averaging a shade under five per outing, covering the 3+ line in 16 of their last 17 Scottish top-flight fixtures.

With this in mind, I’m more than happy to side with three corners apiece here, but to boost the price, I'm going with each side to receive 10+ booking points in what promises to be a tasty tussle under the Tynecastle lights on Wednesday night.

Hearts card per-game average at this stage of the campaign sits at 1.96 per-game, while the Dandies are posting 2.14, a figure that increases to a sizable 2.71 when playing away from their Pittodrie headquarters.

Indeed, referee Steven McLean has taken charge of just eight Scottish Premiership matches this season to date, but he has awarded both teams a booking in six of those games, with 50% of those fixtures featuring four or more cautions.

It's also worth noting that the aforementioned combination clicked during the previous two league meetings between the pair this season and that only adds to the appeal of supporting the same formula here in what is sure to be a keenly-contested affair in that capital.

  • Each team 10+ Booking Points
