Dundee vs Livingston (Saturday, 15:00)
Both Dundee and Livingston are waiting to claim their first three points of the season and that should lead to a closely-fought contest between the pair at Dens Park on Saturday.
It's not been a disastrous start to the campaign for the Dark Blues by any means, with James McPake's side showing great spirit to salvage 2-2 draws in home matches with both St Mirren and Hibs respectively.
Livingston, on the other hand, are without a point in their first four matches and prop up the early Scottish Premiership table.
However, the fixture computer was not kind to the West Lothian outfit, with opening clashes against Rangers, Aberdeen and Hibs all contributing to the Lions' difficult opening stretch to the campaign.
David Martindale will have earmarked this fixture as one where points are attainable but it's difficult to have much faith in either team here so I'm going to steer clear of the outright betting and instead dip into the Cards market.
Over 3.5 Cards at Dens Park on Saturday has been chalked up at 17/20 with UniBet and that makes appeal given that both teams are in desperate need of points in order to climb up the division.
Newly-promoted Dundee have racked up 40+ booking points in three of their four league outings thus far, not to mention three of those four fixtures saw the match official reach for a red card.
Livingston, meanwhile, currently occupy second-place in the disciplinary table, with their three bookings per-game average at this early stage of the season.
In fact, six of the eight Scottish Premiership games that these two teams have contested collectively this term have broken the Over 3.5 Cards barrier.
What's more, referee Alan Muir has been selected to take charge of this tussle, an appointment that only adds to the appeal of siding with cards at Dens Park on Saturday.
Over 3.5 card backers would have been rewarded in 4/5 games with Muir in the middle this season and it's also worth noting that the Scottish whistler flashed no fewer than eight cards when on duty at this venue last month.
With all that in mind, coupled with the fact that the same bet is a short as 1/2 elsewhere, I'll happily snap up the 17/20 (UniBet) on offer for Over 3.5 Cards to be shown in Saturday's City of Discovery dust-up.
