After delivering two winning selections from two in his featured column last Saturday, SlipsTips is back to share his favourite fancy from the Scottish Premiership on Saturday.
Dundee vs Aberdeen (Saturday, 15:00)
Aberdeen will be bidding to make it back-to-back wins in the Scottish Premiership for the first time since December when they pay Dundee a visit on Saturday afternoon.
After two draws and and two defeats, Jim Goodwin landed his maiden win as Dons boss with a well-deserved 3-1 win over Hibernian before the international break.
Whilst Aberdeen remain 10th in the table, just four points separates them and fourth place as the top-six battle looks set to go down to the wire.
Dundee, on the other hand, are rapidly running out of time in order to survive in the top-flight, with Mark McGhee’s men propping up the table, four points adrift of St Johnstone with seven league matches remaining.
As such, the money has started to come for the visitors who are general 11/10 shots here but I'm more than happy to instead side with the 4/5 (Betfair) on Aberdeen -0-25 in the Asian Handicap.
This selection sees our stakes split, with half going on Aberdeen draw no bet and the other half going on the outright win, and that makes appeal when you consider Dundee are winless across their last seven matches in all competitions.
As already alluded to, Aberdeen are involved in a fiercely competitive scrap for a top-six finish and they will have earmarked this fixture with lowly Dundee as one where three points are crucial if they are to clinch a place in the top half of the table.
What’s more, Aberdeen's only two defeats under Goodwin’s guidance (W1,D2,L2) to date have come away at Rangers and Hearts, and I suspect the aforementioned win over Hibs will have the Dandies in high spirits, not to mention they will be roared on by a large travelling support.
Whilst the Dark Blues are desperately seeking points for contrasting reasons, new boss McGhee has been unable to reverse their fortunes thus far.
With this in mind, coupled with the fact that relegation-threatened Dundee have won just one their last 16 Scottish Premiership fixtures, supporting Aberdeen with a -0-25 start stands out at 4/5 with Betfair.
